Looking for an employer in Vancouver

Published

I am RN from Israel. Nowadays I study for the CRNE and already have the temopary registration. In addition, I am looking for an employer in Vancouver. What is the best way to find one? Should I contact hospitals directly or to look for an agency?

Hi

after you have received the letter about your eligibility, your next stage is looking for Canadian employer. An employer and you should fill two pink forms for the temporary registration, and then you should sent them to CRNBC for temporary license. Also you must get some eligible status wor work permit. For more information visit www.cic.gc.ca

Nat!

i applied to College of register nurse in BC. I submitted all my documents but dont recive a letter of eligibility for Candian register exam and temporary license, because i scored 5.5 on the IELTS. can i apply for an empolyer and during the period of supervision submit the score in IELTS. I feel condfince to gain the required score once living in english speaking enviroment.

You must pass the English exam with the minimum required score before they will permit you to test or issue a temporary license. Speaking skills are so very important that without the proof, you will not be able to start working in any of the other countries that require the exam.

You will find it impossible for an employer to hire you and they cannot start any of the procedures until you pass the language exam.

I would focus on that first before anything else as it will also help you do better in your interviews as well as help you in passing the CRNE that will be required of you.

Forgot to add, if you need help with the IELTS exam and its preparation, recommend www.scottsenglish.com

They are out of Australia and they have an excellent program on the internet that you can do.

Also recommend watching as many American movies as possible without the subtitles and pay close attention to how they are using the language.

You must pass the IELTS with the required minimum mark before you will be given eligibility. It's non-negotiable. English is the primary language in all provinces except Quebec, where it's French. All orders, diagnostic reports, porgress notes, esentially all documentation will be in English. You have to be able to understand what you're reading, write notes that can be understood by others and to explain your concerns to others in a manner they will comprehend. And you have to be able to function in an emergency situation where everyone else is speaking English, so there really is no room for lenience. Sorry.

hi all,

i think, there will be a long way from an experienced european nurse to an unexperienced canadian nurse.

it´s not easy, but....

brause

A question, if I am a foreign student who recently got his license from the US, can I apply directly to CRNBC for temporary license before I take the October exam?

Or do I actually have to pass Canada's nursing board exam in order to get temporary license?

Thanks

After CRNBC finishes its evaluation of your application and approve it, you receive the temporary registration. Than you have several month to pass the CRNE.

Thanks there, it helps a lot. Will be happy to move to Vancouver if that is the case. Mucha Gracias!
