Looking for Canadian RN exam (CRNE)prep course

Published

Hi i am looking for a CRNE prep course in Toronto, i am going to take the CRNE in Oct. 2008, please ! :wink2: I need more info, thanks

Hi Dosey,

Would be able to give me a guideline what to study (subject wise)?

Specializes in intensive care, recovery, anesthetics.

I would review all areas in general nursing (canadian textbook!), read and study the code of ethics carefully. For the actual test the best prep guide is the CNA one.

Ataur, your 15 posts must be legitimate, on-topic and contribute to the discussion. Some have attempted to boost their post counts so that they could send spam PMs and had those posts removed. As for the question you asked above about what to study, there are already at least a half dozen threads discussing that here. Please take a look at the International and Canadian forums, do a keyword search using the Google Custom Search box at the top right of the screen and read what's already been posted.

I wrote the June 3, Exam and I found the CNA prep guide did not prepare me well. It was too easy. I thik understanding of the pathophysiology of each desise would help. I need a different book to study from. Any suggession

I'm a bit surprised when I read your comment, of course you do need your general knowledge, but the CNA prep guide is the closest to the exam you can get. Maybe you would profit from a review course at one of the colleges. Don't know where you are but I'm sure sth is offered in your area.

Hi,

As for me, the prep guide (3rd and 4th editions) prepared me well for the exam. The questions seem very easy but look at the rationale for each question and how you can apply them given a different scenario. Study the most common diseases in Canada, visualize them in your mind and relate them to somebody you know. Like for example,Diabetes Mellitus, I always relate it to the mom of my friend. I practiced answering questions everyday, minimum of 50 at first then 150 then progressed to 300 a day. I also did practice questions on the Mosby's Comprehensive Review of Nursing and took the readiness test a few days prior to the exam. Above all, pray to God that He will guide you. Hope this helps. Be positive!

thanks for all your advices here. it would really help me a lot when i take the CRNE in the near future. im only waiting for my local licensure exam in our country. by the way, is there a thread here that shows how to apply for CRNE? TIA

There are plenty of threads however you are applying for license to be a nurse in Canada CRNE is just the final part. Starting point would be the province you plan on working in and links can be found in a sticky near the top of the forum.
