Has anyone graduated, Applied or thinking of applying to LIU in Brooklyn,NY.

I would like to know how difficult it is to get accepted into the nursing program.Is their an entrance exam prior to acceptance?

I applied and got accepted...In my opinion it is't hard to get in..however, you must finish the general education course before starting the nursing courses

I just sent in my on-line application a couple of weeks ago, they have rolling admissions. I have no idea about how hard it is to get in. I havn't head much about it, not on the NY board either. Someone said they only look at GPA- I hope they are wrong... As far as I know there is no entrance exam.

I Attend Liu I'm A Freshman And I'm An Lpn . Liu Only Has Bachelors, And Master Etc.. But No Associates, Its A 4 Yr Program Minimum. You Have To Finish Your Pre- Reqs Before You Start The Program And You Have To Take A Hesi Exam Before You Start Too. My Gpa Was 3.0 So I Was Accepted As A Nrsg Student If Your Gpa Is Lower They Accept You As A Pre-nrsg Student. Good Luck Feel Free To Ask Any Other Ques Or Go To Website Liu.edu.

gt4everpn..is the Hesi exam about the vocabulary section only or is verbal, math, science (a&p) included? Thanks in advance!

a classmate mate of mine just took the hesi (lucky her!!!) and showed me a breakdown of her results and what we can expect on the exam. she bought a book to review, then took the exam. i haven't seen the book yet:

*anatomy and physiology

*biology (i don't remember whether or not micro was included)

*chemistry (dont remember if she said organic was included or intro)

*vocabulary and general knowledge

*grammar

*reading (meaning & word use, conclusion, implication, understanding)*math (i think she even had roman numerals in this part! :lol2:)

Hey guys I just graduated from LIU and I will tell you this its easy to get in and hard to stay in. The entrance Hesi is a piece of cake you will do well I have not heard of anyone one not passing. To stay in you have to study hard you can't not just get by. They have exit Hesi for each semester inorder to advance so you always have to be on top of your game. If you are hard working and passionate you will succeed. Good luck
