the long, drawn out, aggravating and frustrating wait for orders

Hey All!!!! I got a question....:coollook:

How is everyone getting their set of orders? Are they getting to you via snail mail? email? ako? and just for average sake.... about how long are they taking for commissioning to you (no hearsays please)?

I am 61 days,or 5,270,400 secs or 87,840 minutes or 1464 hours post commissioning. I know I am hopping on this once again.... but my ako email is messed up (some one there in ako land put a 2 after my name and like there are two of us in the Army..... ahahahahahaha NO!):bugeyes: they got me listed as IRR (I just signed my life over to them how am I IRR) .... the list goes on (as in my MDR is listed as in 2014.... someone there can't do math):cry: .... I don't know what an impact this all has, maybe it has none but as drill weekend rolls around this weekend hmmm....... I am betting at this point I am putting all my earrings back in my ears that I took out for my I.D. and just gonna be trying to forget that I should be, by all means at drill and not being where I will be.:angryfire

I've already started proceedings to get this straightened out myself, as that seems to be the mode in Reserve land., I have contacted my recruiter (who I am sure is not at fault here) but anyway, If I donot have any response by Monday then I will contact the Company Commander and see if there will be any resolution there. If not by the middle of next week I will contact my congressperson and ask for a congressional intervention.

I am all action behind my talk!

hi!

i went to my unit today and spoke with the unit administrator. she looked in the personnel system online and found that my paperwork is in "limbo". so she then called my recruiter who told her he did some searching and found out that my paperwork is somewhere along the "paper trail" and that because of the ice storms and the holidays it is delayed but should be coming. I got thrown into the IRR because they needed to put me somewhere.

Now if the man could have communicated that to me in an email or a voicemail I wouldnt have wasted 2 and a half hours of my life driving back and forth to find that out. That comment was relayed.

So, I have sought out those I have needed to and followed the process. I will wait till the middle of next month (probably 12 weeks total) and then if no orders still decide what recourse to take. Which will probably be the "drama queeen" step. Hopefully that won't be needed.

I was commissioned on July 1st of 2008. I have been waiting for orders since July of 08. Over the last 8 weeks, I have been in just about everyone's face ( short of anyone over the rank of 05 ) trying to figure out what is happening and trying get some answers. I have just recently, last week in fact, filed a FOIR with OPM to obtain a copy of my sec.cl. background investigation to at least see if that has been done. I, by the way, recieved the same run around from HRC... they also list me as placed in the IRR. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

Supposedly ... according to my recruiting station commander... "someone" somewhere "up the chain" neglected to "scan in" part of my packet wich left it sitting "incomplete" on somones desk for well over a month. The error was not discovered until Dec 1st. According to the Capt. I spoke with, it "reset the 90 clock for [me] to recieve [my] orders". This puts me into March of 09. So I sit and wait.. Dont know what else to do.

I feel your pain.

Maybe it's a conspiracy against us 5 mikers..... ahhaahaha......ummmmm NO! (just kidding folks) I know better its just typical army b.s. as a Captain friend pointed out today over lunch "welcome to the Army"!

and I hear folks in the NG get treated worse..... damn!

yeah part of a vast right wing conspiracy to start saving for that great big stimulus package of which we get a big huge whopping $13 extra a week in our paychecks.... Cut the ED RN's from the Reserves.... that's what it is......muahahaha!!!!! Well, that's ok they'll just have the 8A's doing our jobs..... I wonder how they'll feel about all that fresh open trauma???? drunk drop offs???? and the 3 am mosquito bites????

hmm.... well I think you could be right... maybe its headed up by that newly appointed Lt. Exxxxxxxx...... I think she's trying to get rid of all of us specialty RN's all together so that she can run the whole shebang. Damn her!!!! (LOL :>D )
