Hi there everyone. I'm one of the 2015 hopefuls for lonestar. Just wondering if anyone has any information on application datelines for 2015 spring. The school sites don't happen to have that info(unless, I am missing something). Any info would be appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone.
OMG... thanks leahgirl!!.. it does seem pretty overwhelming I just hope we all get in... i'm trying to stay very positive, and I hope I can start on spring..
i'm so ready to get this going!.. if you don't mind me asking.. what kinds of things they go over in orientation? do we have to take our shot records, or money for anything like a drug test or something? when do we have to send money to the BON in order to get the background stuff done?... when do we have to do a health screening? if so can we do it at the doc of our choice?... is there any other things that we are gonna need cash for??... I'm not working right now, so the $ stuff has me on edge...
Hi everyone! Been following this thread for a while. Thanks to all of you in the program for the information. it helps so much to have an idea of how it will be if I get in. I applied to Cy Fair only with an 11.6. Hope they send out letters soon. The wait is killer. Good luck to you all, and hopefully I'll meet some of you at orientation.
Good luck to all the applicants !! I have been watching this forum for 2 years now anticipating the day. I am taking micro now and taking a few classes next semester to finish up classes that I will need later on....chem and stats. I really wanted to start this spring but I decided last minute to go ahead and get those other courses out of the way, because when I finish LoneStar I want to get to work without trying to fit in classes. Best of luck to you all.

When you get accepted they will send you and email on your mylonestar account. You will reply if you accept the position and then you will receive an email with instructions and due dates of the things you need to get done (like paying for the drug test) before the orientation. If it doesn't have a due date then they will go into more detail at orientation. All of your immunizations/health screenings/permission slips will all be submitted to Certified Background. They will teach you about it at orientation. I didn't have a problem with my BON but if you have something that has to have a DO the you want to get on it asap. The DO's I've heard can take a while. You need to be saving some money as there will be several expenses when the time comes. For cheap immunizations/titers/physicals you can go to Family Express Clinic in Spring on Rayford/Sawdust. You don't need insurance and they are very cheap. For other financial help as soon as you get accepted go to your financial aid office and talk to an advisor about Workforce Solutions. If you qualify they will help pay for your tuition, supplies, books, scrubs, etc. Our books alone were about $1500. At orientation they will go over what they need before you start and then what your weekly schedule will be like, meeting the staff, what to expect, NSO, Honors, etc. Hope this helps!
Thank you so much leahgirl!!This great info helps soooo much:yes:! amazing info!!! at least I know now that I need to start getting financially prepared big time.. and to get my paperwork ready for workforce solutions... I had their assistance in the past for child care, so I know how time sensitive they are when it comes to the pprwrk... @dawno: don't worry let's keep our hopes up and stay very positive!
