Anyone applying?
Thank you JayCazares. Whats the difference between in district and out? I know I will have to pay out of state tuition..at least for 1 semester but not sure about the district stuff. School is cheaper there anyway. Out of state tuition is equal to what I pay here for in state...
Your "distrist" is based on which school district you live in and therefore which district you pay property taxes to. I am in-district for HCC (Houston Community College) since I live near downtown. I choose to go to Lonestar instead because I feel it's a better school. I pay roughly double the tuition as students who are in district.
Good luck!

Is there a map or a link that anyone knows of showing the districts and the colleges in them? I havent found a place to live yet so Im flexible. My brother lives near downtown and I may stay with them for a while when I first move there but I can move if I need to. I think either way its going to be cheaper than what I pay here.
@flylikeabird The bookstore website is very confusing... but I assume that the book you're talking about is just the regular Fund of Nursing that we're going to be using for RNSG 1105. I would say not worry about it. The only books I'm buying for RNSG 1209 are Documentation & Nursing process by White, and Professional Nursing by Chitty. I noticed they require Nutrition too, but a different edition. I purchased the latest edition (6th ed I think...) and that's the one I'm going to be using for both classes. I guess the difference between the editions in the website is just a typing error.
RNSG 1144 should require the same books as RNSG 1105 since it's just a continuation of that class. We need to purchase the basic and advanced kits though.
The book for RNSG 1146 is Legal & Ethical Issues for Health Professionals by Pozgar. 2nd ed, ISBN: 9780763764739. I got that information from mylonestar.

Have any of you guys been registered for classes yet?
@alex1987 Thank you for clearing up my confusion! One last question! do you know which classes we need to buy access codes? I know people talked about access codes from previous posts, were they talking about the basic and advanced kits for RNSG 1144?
Some books come with access codes and/or cds. I haven't received all my books yet but so far the ones I have that came with access codes and cds are: Health Assessment in Nursing (both), Dosage calculation (Cd only), Nutrition (access code only) Taylor's clinical skills (both) and Taylor's clinical skills checklist (access code only). All the access codes can be accessed through this website http://thepoint.lww.com so I guess if you get an used book without access code then you can purchase it from there.

Does that mean we need access code for all the textbooks? Or just the ones that actually listed need access code next to the title of the book from the required list?
I have no idea. Usually if a new book comes with Access code and CD then the bookstore lists it next to the book title. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that we are going to use them on class. The instructor may not even ask to access the website or may ask to complete homework from the website, you never know. Because of that I'm getting all used books with unused access codes just in case we need them for homework or things like that. Like I said before if you get an used book without access code then check if you can buy it from the website, if you can then maybe you should wait till we go to class just to figure out if we're really using the access code so you don't waste your money... it's up to you lol
I checked the homework list they gave us during orientation and for RNSG 1105 it says: Complete Taylor's online nursing skills, module 2, topics 1, 3.... and so on.
I'm not sure but I guess "online" refers to the book website/access code maybe???
I don't have the book yet so don't take my word for it. But if I'm positive then that's the only book (until now) we know we need to have the access code for sure.
This is me waving hello :hpygrp:and bouncing off the walls with excitement!! I got the phone call from Ms Anderson today that I am no longer an alternate and will be joining all of you in January!!! So so so excited :w00t: I tried to access the FB page to put in my request, but I can't seem to find it. Help please??
