  1. Thats what I figured as well. I'm just hoping maybe it will be earlier. I keep anxiously checking my email every day. :) Im assuming if your not accepted you wont hear anything???
  2. Has anyone heard when they will start sending acceptance letters for the Quest program? I just know sometime in Feb.
  3. Do you think it helped at all for the TEAS, HESI or the Pharm class?
  4. Is there a map or a link that anyone knows of showing the districts and the colleges in them? I havent found a place to live yet so Im flexible. My brother lives near downtown and I may stay with them for a while when I first move there but I can move if I need to. I think either way its going to be cheaper than what I pay here.
  5. Well apparently Im not very good with this site. I cant figure out how to instant message. How about I give you my email. [email protected]. My name is Stephanie by the way Thanks Again
  6. Thanks CareAngel, I will. :)
  7. Thank you JayCazares. Whats the difference between in district and out? I know I will have to pay out of state tuition..at least for 1 semester but not sure about the district stuff. School is cheaper there anyway. Out of state tuition is equal to what I pay here for in state...
  8. Hello, I currently live in Denver and will be moving to Houston May 2012. Im in my last pre req here and am looking for nursing schools in Houston. Does Lonestar have anything near downtown Houston or close by? I dont mind a minimal commute but dont want to spend an hour driving.
  9. Hi, Im currently in Denver and moving to Houston May 2012. Im in my last pre req now and I already have a bachelors degree. Does it have to be Math 312 or can it be something higher. I have taken statistics but never had Int Algebra. I have an Accounting degree. I dont want to have to take another non nursing course once I finish this Micro class if I dont have to.
  10. Hi everyone. First off congratulations to all that were accepted. Im hoping Ill receive that acceptance letter one day. It has been great reading all of the posts, I think I have been reading back since 2009. I currently live in Denver CO but will be moving to Houston in May 2012 and have been working on getting into nursing school. I already have a Bachelors in Accounting but decided it was time for a career change. In CO most of the nursing programs require you have a CNA license so I work part time as a Home Health Aide while working my full time business analyst job and going to school. This semester Ill finish my last pre reqs, Micro and Psych. I have completed all non essential nursing courses. After these classes I either get in or wait. Im currently looking at San Jac and HCC. I figure Ill apply to both and see who will take me. I still have to take the HESI and not sure if I should take it here or wait till I get down there. Also at HCC you dont need the HESI but the TEAS? I have never heard of that, anyone know anything about it? At least thats what I have read on their site. Any other programs I should consider that are in the area? I want to apply to as many as possible with hopes one will take me. I have a 3.5 in all pre req classes but only a 2.9 when I graduated with my bachelors. Im not sure how that will factor in considering my bachelors is from a different school then where I have been taking my pre reqs. San Jac seems to be tougher to get in but to be honest I have not seen one person post in here that they did not get accepted. Even since back to 2009. That gives me hope. Here in Denver its very competitive and very saturated so its hard to get in anywhere the first try. Plus they only accept around 60 students each semester..IF that. Any suggestions or helpful hints would greatly be appreciated.
  11. Im looking into getting QMAP certified. I see a lot of postings for CNA requiring it.
  12. I am having the same problem, I got my CNA certification in January and cant even get an interview. They pick the people who have experience. Its frustrating. I have applied at every hospital, nursing home, home health facility I can find. I do have a question. When filling out applications.. if they have you fillout a questionare like "do you have experience bathing and dressing patients" do you count your clincals for CNA school as experience? I never really know it I should or not but it is experience. Any suggestions?
