Lonestar Spring 2012 Hopefuls

Anyone applying?

Hey Everyone!

I just stumbled upon this thread and thought I chime in. I'm scheduled to take the HESI @ Lone Star, and I'm SUPER NERVOUS! I took it back in Feb, and didn't do so well on the vocab. section. I'm hoping this time around that I'll do better so that I can actually apply for Spring 2012. What kind of grades does everyone have in their pre-reqs, well just the top 4 that we really need to apply (comp I, A&P I&II, PSCH)?

I took my HESI back in January to get a feel for what it was going to be like.. when I went to take it this semester- they told me I had taken the HESI recently enough for my old scores to be used again so, I did not have to retest. I think I did well on all portions (made above 90 on all sections) except for the A & P section, which I made a 76 on... (I had not yet taken A & P 2 before taking the HESI last January..and I think that is why my score was so poor).. To answer your question about other peoples grades.. I am proud to say that I have made an A in every college class I have taken so far and I have a 4.0 gpa (math 0306, math 0308, a & p 1, a & p 2, sociology, speech, psychology, lifespan G & D, english 1 and english 2, and Kinesiology) My overall points that I applied with was 11.7796. I am hoping to get into the Kingwood program that starts in January. I am signed up to take Micro and Nursing Pharm this semester. Best of luck to all!!

You go HeatherEMT!!!!!! You're pretty high on the list so I seriously doubt that you will have a problem getting into the program. For not taking A&P 2, you did awesome on the HESI!!! Your experience came in handy. :)

I have A's and B's, and I feel that my B's are what's going to hold me back. I'll be taking the HESI on the 29th, so we'll see what happens. Good luck to you all!!! :)

I want honest opinions from you all.... I just finished my Hesi , and the outcome doesn't look so good... my

English cumulative was 87.1%.. which gives me total of 11.48.... Should I still apply for it or not? from reading

previous posts, it looks like everyone made higher than 11.6....... Do I have a chance of making into any of the

ADN programs in the LSC?

I have an 11.41 and I'm still applying anyway!! The worst that can happen is that you don't get accepted, and you surely won't get accepted if you don't apply :)

Of course apply!! You need to think positive, I wish you the best of luck. And did anyone notice that lsc has posted on the nursing page that starting after this application period students will be allowed to take hesi 60 days apart. I wonder if that means you can take the test twice an application period? I bet view changed it because they realized so many people were failing the anatomy portion?

I did read from the nursing homepage that they are going to raise the price of hesi to $35 after september?

I wish I could think positive but right now I'm so depressed that I don't know what to do :crying2:... but thank you for your positive spirit beth and katybusymom.....maybe I should pray that I make it to at least alternate spot if they even have one and wait for any applicants dropping out of the list... I guess one good sign is that the class average score was 79...

Just in curiosity and desperation does anyone know any applicants who got into cy fair or kingwood with score similar to mine or below after change of score limit to 75% on all section?

I definatley think you should apply. Last semester I was not done with all the pre reqs and took the HESI just as a practice so I could get a feel for it. My points were 9.8... This is OBVIOUSLY not a score that will get me in, but I went through the application process anyways. I did not get in but, I am glad that I am familiar with the process. Now that I am done with the pre reqs, my score is much higher and I am hoping I get put into the Kingwood program this Spring.

I know people have gotten into Montgomery with scores as low as 10.8.... I know some people think that is crazy but, they were on the alternate list and got a phone call. The scores have gotten a lot more competitive though with the additiion of A & P on the HESI and I know almost everyone I have talked to this semester has made 11.6 or higher. I am nervous that my chances may be slim and I have an 11.779..

Someone else posted on here.. "you will certainly not get in if you dont apply" .. Try to keep that in mind. You will never know if you would have gotten in if you dont take that chance.

As nervous as we all are (and excited and scared and inpatient) .. I feel that God will make sure that we are all put in the right place for the right reasons. All of us that deserve to get in may or may not get in and I think that is all just a part of his plan.

Try to keep your spirits up and just apply already! I have my fingers crossed for you!!:)

Yes I think you should apply. I definitely am with my 11.45, may not get in but I'll never know unless I try...Good luck!!
