Anyone applying?

Hi lsc hopefulls! I am new on here, good to know that others are in the same position as me...I am so nervous because I am taking the hesi on the 22nd. Anyone have any tips for the assesment test? Best of luck to everyone!

Advice: Its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be so, try not to be too stressed. Sleep well the day before and eat a good breakfast before (you know all the things they told us in school to do before a big test day).. I reviewed the HESI a2 Eselvier study guide and found it really helpful. The A & P section is a little tricky- you have to remember things from class- theres no good way to cram all of that into a quick and easy study session. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. You are right- we are all in the same situation here.. nervous, excited and hopeful! Let us know how you do and if you need anything! Best of luck!

im pretty much done with all of my pre reqs, but havent taken the pharm. do you guys suggest taking any other classes this semester for nursing? and i tried to register for pharm, but i keep getting the , " this class is not available".. whats up with that?

I have not tried to register for pharm.. and what do u mean other classes??? I would say go ahead and try to knock out as much as you can right now if you still have prereqs to take but other than that I am not sure unless there are BSN prereqs you may want to take... how did you do on your hesi???

Hi all,

I am going to start applying for the spring 2012 nursing program for the North Harris Campus. The only class I need to take is Pharmacology and I am taking it in the fall 2011. I was told pathophysiology was not required but recommended. I was wondering who was all taking pathophysiology.

I just took the Hesi at Lone Star Cy-Fair today. I took Version 2. It was HARD. I made a cumlative score of 91%, but I worked for it. I made an 84 on the A&P section and my questions were very specific.

My final score that I will be applying with is 11.4192. I made a "B" in Psychology a million years ago and missed the sign up date to take it over again this summer, so that brought my overall points down by .333.

Good Luck to everyone :)

Oh, just FYI, when I checked my scores online today with Evolve, the class average for A&P was a 70!

I'm wondering how many applicants are actually eligible to apply now?

really????? Now I regret myself for seeing this message , since I'm taking mine on this Saturday..... I'm still struggling to recollect a n p materials I studied few weeks ago and I'm still not finished with studying the English portion :uhoh3:

How was the Vocab and grammar portion? was it easier or harder than the elsvier study guide book?

Sounds like you did great on the hesi...congrats!!!:yeah:I to am extremely nervous now to take the test, the 22nd. seems so far away now! But once again, congrats

The Grammar and Vocab sections were a LOT like the study guide. You have to know the definition of the word because it is used in a sentence and you have to pick the correct meaning.

Grammar is like the study guide also. Know the contractions (it's, can't, you're, etc.), know how to use lay, laid, know proper punctuation (commas, periods etc.), know independent/dependent clauses. If you understand the study guide, then you should do well on the test.

Math is exactly like the study guide. Know your conversions including military time, roman numerals and household measurements. Know how to convert decimals to ratios. Know how to add/subtract fractions.

Don't be nervous. You will do great.

One thing that I did for the A&P section was to read the question first, then look away and try to think of the answer on my own before I looked at the choices. That way, the choices couldn't cloud my judgement.

Good Luck :)

Thanx for all your advice I feel a little more confident now!!!

Thx for the advice katybusymom.....now back to studying argh!!!
