Anyone applying?
Beth5278, All I can suggest is Any Lab Test Now, there is a location at Bunker Hill and I-10 in the parking lot with the HEB. They could have your test results back within 48 hours. Call them as soon as you get this message, they might have a clinic closer to you. Their number is 713-461-2121 I had mine done there and had the results within 48 hours.

Hi Everyone !!
For some odd reason, I haven't been getting my email updates when someone posts to the board, so when I checked, I sure had a lot of catching up to do!!
So far, Cy-Fair says they will not accept my Micro class from UTA. I'm in total shock and disbelief. This very same Micro class has transferred to every other school that I have applied to without question. I'm waiting on the final word, but it's not looking good
If they don't accept my Micro class, then I will be completely out of the running to get accepted. I made a 93.84 on my Hesi, but it doesn't matter b/c I will only have 3 points (instead of 4) in section 2 of the Score Chart (with Micro 27hrs, without 23hrs), which will take away an entire point and leave me with 10.45. Not even in the ballpark of getting in. With 11.45, I had a slight chance.....but with 10.45, no way.
So, I'm waiting.........until Tuesday, then I will probably lose my mind and run cyring to the department head of biology and beg her to accept my Micro class for transfer credit. BUT, I'm open to other suggestions......anyone?
Katybusymom... I am in the same boat as you... I took 2421 instead of 2420 and they are telling me they will not accept it... only thing is before I took th course over the summer I checked with someone and was told that I should be fine because they go off of course description... so I made my score go from 11.78 to 10.78. I am really discouraged now and feel that I should not even apply. Who are you talking to about yur situation??? I may want to contact them a well.
prayerful,
I feel for you in your situation. The classes have almost the same name, but they are different.
Biol 2420 Medical Microbiology (for medical majors)
Biol 2421 General Micorbiology (for non-medical majors)
I would be just sickened. Biol classes are not the easiest classes to take then when you find out you have taken one you were not required to that is a hard one to process. You can still apply, you could make it as an alt. with that score. There are many other students that have other issues such as not passing the HESI or scoring low, and not having classes complete but in progress. HOLD YOU HEAD UP AND TRY.
katybusymom,
I started out this application period having a problem with my transcript being updated in the system. My transcript ended up being misplaced and I had to submit a new official copy. I had been to student services three times and a couple of different people from the transcript dept came and talked with me. They assured me that my transcript would be evaluated and updated. I had turned in my updated transcript the first time on May 23, 2011. I followed up the second week of June, the first time I spoke with someone in the transcript who checked to see that my transcript was in their department. Nothing happened, again at the end of June I followed up once more. I visited with and advisor who went to the transcript department and spoke with someone who told her my transcripts were there and they would be evaluated and updated. As the advisor and I were talking the lady from the transcript dept came to her desk and said that she had entered everything from my transcript into the system. I arrived home and checked on my student records online, NOTHING had changed. That was the third time I had been told that my transcript was back there in the transcript department. Being there wasn't any change in my student records I went back and told them I wanted to see the physcial copy of my transcript they had used to update my grades. They could not locate my transcript it had been lost. The only transcript they had was the one I submitted last Jan. and they were looking at that transcript, not the updated one with my classes completed. I blew a gasket, I asked them who was going to pay to replace the first copy they lost, the gas and how was I going to be reincompensated for my time going back to HCC again and getting another official transcript that they might loose again like the first one I turned in on May 23, and this was not the week before finals in summer session II and the nursing application deadline was only a month away, but I had to study for finals. I felt like the world was against me and that it was going to be impossible to deal with this school because they lost my paperwork. The trust was broken, I could not concentrate on my finals, my world was falling apart and time was limited. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I FINALLY had my grades updated and I made an "A" in that class I was supposed to be studying for a final in, but had to wait at HCC for over three hours to request an official transcript and then to have to return to HCC to pick it up in two days because they do not give it to you on the spot. LIFE CAN BE FRUSTRATING but it is these frustrations that we are challenged with that make us capable of dealing with life. I looked at my situation as it was making a contribution to my life, making me stronger and able to handle the next big challenge. DON'T GIVE UP, YOU HAVE BECOME A STRONGER PERSON THROUGH DEALING WITH THIS TRANSCRIPT PROBLEM. Wow, I feel better already.
@Beth5278,
When I turned in my applcation, the chick only asked me for proof that I had "started" the HEP B shots. Why not just show that you have completed the shots, and don't ask questions. Does the application say that the shots have to be within 10 yrs?? Who told you that you have to have a titer completed?
CareAngel,
Were you also taking an A&PII class at the same time as RNSG 1301? I could have enrolled in the class at Tomball or NH if I was also co-enrolling in Biol 2402 at the same time, but I had already completed Biol 2402 and did not want to pay to repeat the course. This may be a change that they have implemented for any Fall 2011 enrollment. My priority for the summer sessions was to complete Soci, Kine, and Biol 2420 and I was wanting to take RNSG 1301 for Fall 2011, but having the stipulation of consecutive enrollment in Biol 2402 I decided to redirect my priorities and enroll in classes that will lead to the BSN hoping I gain acceptance in the ADN program beginning Spring 2012.

I tried to enroll in the Pharm classes offered at Lone Star, Tomball and North Harris only allowed enrollment without departmental consent, for this Fall term. The experience I had was this, each Pharm class was linked to an A&P II class that you had to enroll in consecutively. I had already completed A&P II as well as all the core classes for the ADN program, so I decided that I would enroll in classes that will transfer as credit hours toward a BSN program.
