Anyone applying?
My score is 11.2468. Darn engl comp I, for our final exam we had to argue for what grade we thought we deserved. I should have argued for an "A" but instead I argued for a "B" and boy is seems like that is biting me in the bum. I have 3.7 for the pre-reqs. I do not want to retake engl comp I, but I might have to next semester if I don't get in this application period. :nuke:
Okay everyone....so I went to the kingwood nursig information session last night just to see if I could get an idea about the schedule...and the director told me the lowest score they accepted last semester was 11.67 tough competition! But I am praying this addition of anatomy will improve everyones chances of getting in...best of luck to all:heartbeat
they cannot increase the number of applicants they accept because they are regulated by the bon and tea as to the student to instructor ratio. lone star has had positions open for faculty and staff for their nursing programs, but they obviously haven't hired enough to expand their programs enrollment size. i have seen job openings for nursing faculty and staff at lone star for the past 11 months at workintexas.com. i also know that obama has initiated a bill in congress feb. of 2009 demanding that nursing programs across the us must expand their enrollment in order to continue receiving federal funding for the institutions. i think the institutions had a deadline of 2012 to have their nursing programs established to accommodate for the increase in enrollment.
I am new here but have been following all of you for a while! I am so nervous like everyone else! I wish everyone the best of luck and will be glad when this waiting is over:uhoh3: I don't think I have a chance but I am hopeful any way! I am in the pharm class at HCC so if I pass their math test with a 90 or better I will make it into their program, which would be great, but it is a hard class. LSC is closer for me so I really wanted to get into their program. At this point, with all the competition, I should just be happy to get into any program shouldn't I!!!! Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to you all for providing so much info and I look forward to hearing the outcomes!!!
@AllinKnots Congrats on getting into the pharm class at HCC! I am not so great at math and struggled with 0312 (I have been out of high school for over 18 years) so I guess what I am saying is that I did not make a "C" in Math 0312 and could not apply to the program at HCC. I transferred to LSC and am currently taking the math class again hoping that I can get at least a "C" and I am a straight "A" student other than Engl comp I (B) and Math 0312. The Lord only knows why I am challenged with such difficulty in math, but I shall over come it this semester!!! Hang in there at HCC, it is a great program. I know a couple of graduates who placed in employment where they did their clinical rotations as a student nurse and couldn't be happier!!

@ thehopeful did you find time to get by the nursing office to have your hesi scores input into the system?
