Lonestar Spring 2012 Hopefuls

Anyone applying?

@kalisefer...thanks I am trying to stay on top of my studying for pharm so I hope I can maintain my pace. I understand about the math, it has been 18 years for me as well. I took math for elementary teachers the first time I was in college so I had to start at 0308 and then go to 0312. I was consumed with math for a year:) I have faith you will over come it this semester...best of luck to ya! Getting studying time done is much harder this time around isn't it? 3 kids later and way too much time away from the books = a big transition to get into student mode again!

@AllinKnots,

Glad the thread has been a help to you. This website is the greatest. I'm actually going to the Coleman campus because I work during the day and that was the only campus that had an evening course. I wish I could've gone to the Katy campus because its so much closer to me. I think the class (Pharm) is going to be rough! I'm just glad it's the only class I'm taking right now. I'm not sure what the class would be like while taking other classes.:uhoh3:

@ Careangel

How do I register for a pharm class in any HCC campuses? because I heard that I can't just register for a pharm class. I have to take other classes and tests? is this correct? if so what do I need to do to take pharm class in HCC?

@kaliserfer, I actually just emailed the nursing department and she updated my scores for me!

I was lucky, I did not have to wait very long for my scores to be updated. I tested on Tuesday, 09/06/11 and on Thursday 09/08/11 my HESI scores were in the system. Friday, I submitted my application to Cy-Fair and now I am waiting until the 1st week of Oct. for the letter regarding acceptance to the program. Best of luck to all who are in the same position. May we all rest our minds and I pray that I don't wear out the door on the mail box opening and closing it in anticipation for the letter to be there. lol

Same here! I submitted my application yesterday! I'm praying I have a chance, since my score is 11.66

:confused: and I can't wait for the letters to be mailed!

well, took my hesi Tuesday, scores were posted Thursday, and now I'm trying to print out all the documents so I can turn in my application first thing Monday......can't figure out how to print out "my unofficial transcript" from myLonestar.....I found a link to "view unofficial transcript", but everytime I click it, it does nothing. Am I missing something?? Is this something I can go to campus and have an advisor do for me??

thanks and good luck to everyone!!! Oh, and CareAngel--thanks for the info about Pharm!

I encountered the same problem: the transcript was there but when I clicked on "View report" I did't see it. I gave up and I printed it from the library. For whatever reason, it worked perfectly fine at the library.

thanks! I guess I'll try that~

:)

@Flylikeabird,

In order to take Pharm @ HCC, you have to apply to the program first. Based on your scores and grades will determine if you get "approved " to take Pharm at HCC. You can also take Pharm online at Lone Star college. However, I believe its only through Tomball of Kingwood. Cy-Fair will not allow you to take through their campus. You have to be accepted into the ADN program first. I'm sure there is a school out there that will allow you to take Pharm without any conditions. Good Luck!

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Cheers!

Hey....so fellow nursing student hopefuls....I need your help! I had my hep b shots more than 10 years ago so I had to get the booster shot....the nursing department said they also needed a titer showing immunization to the disease....I had the blood drawn yesterday and the office told me it could take 4-7 days...but the application deadline is the 15th. Right? What do I do if the results aren't in by then? Does anyone have any suggestions or be advice...I'm stressing out!!:hdvwl:
