Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

Gayla can you tell me how many hours you were at? Were you suspended for the same thing?

I hit my max credit hours a couple years ago... I was in shock because I wasnt aware of the max credit hrs policy. I was approved quicker than I thought I would be. I also always renew my FASFA yearly. Which it you dont could hold you up the approval process.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if we need to get a scrub jacket AND a lab jacket? One paper that we got from the orientation in October mentions the LANDAU navy scrub jacket and then at the bottom of the page it says lab jacket. Are they the same?

Current CyFair ADN students - Do the instructors allow you to use laptops/tablets in class for taking notes and/or viewing Powerpoints or are we still in the stone-age?

Haha, I read the her ratings as well on that site yesterday. Yeah I do not know if you are taking morning or evening but I have morning...On Tuesday it looks like I have class 9-12pm than lab from 3-4:50pm. I will be using those 3 hours on Tuesdays for studying at the campus or we can find another way to study.

I have morning classes and I have clinicals on Fridays as well, my only days off are Thursdays. I wonder by when we will get an email with all the information on what to study and what to read before school starts.

Okay last year I had my financial aid disappear and than someone told me from the fa department that I have met my lifetime max..I was like what....I went in person and it ended up to be a mistake. The fa advisor told met that this law Obama made in regards to a student only being able to have so many credit hours or so much money. There is a max you can receive in your lifetime. She told me in the past students were able to get fa as long as they wanted as long as they qualified. Now students that take courses to major in something than change their mind might run into problems due to this new law. Is this what they are referring to in your case?

Yea My day off is Thursday too.. I don't know when and if they even send out an email in regards to what we study...Hopefully they will

Once they see you're in a program your appeal should go through. I think the amount of aid isn't as much as you previously got before hitting max hrs but it's still good. I have a friend who is in the same boat.

only up to 90 credit hours at the community college.. My appeals went through the next day I applied.. I did mines Dec. the 11th online on my student records. I was given a paper form from cyfair, but I noticed you can apply online If shows up on the left corner of your "my student records screen". There is a handy link. I was accepted the next day, but just noticed it and then the lonestar website started their site updates until noon tomorrow.

Gaylawaller, Thank you for posting that. I will be okay for the first semester but I have to start appeals on second semester. Boy it alleviates a little stress to know that they are approving appeals!!
