Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54
Yes, it is...That is the thing I guess I got mixed up on something....I thought pharmacology would be for the first 5 Wednesdays but I not it looks like that is something else...I tell you what I never had more than 7 credit hours per semester. My schedule looks intimidating right now...lol....it's all good though.
Yeah from my understanding pharmacology was going to be giving to us for the first two months or so , but it makes sense that is the whole semester because this course has alot of math in it. Also I feel intimidated as well because I don't like online classes . who is your pharmacology professor ?
After some research I found this in a previous post. It definitely gives us an idea what to expect.Dec 11, '12 by Alexandria8263 This post is for the cy-fair students-
Here's the homework we got in the fall (it's probably going to be the same for spring tho) :
RNSG 1209 (Intro to Nursing) -
Read Chitty book, chapters 1-3, 5-7 and 14-16
also download and read Texas Board of Nursing (Nurse Practice Act)
RNSG 1115 (Health Assessment) -
Read Weber and Kelley Book, chapters 1-6 and 9-12
Read Taylor et al., Chapter- Nurse as a communicator
RNSG 1105 (Nursing Skills I) -
Read Taylor, chapters 21, 26, 27 (all except sterile technique) and 33
Read Lynn chapter 4 (4-1, 4-2, 4-7)
Self study and Review Pickar chapter 1 (fractions and decimals)
Class schedule we had:
Monday- 9-11:30 or 12:30-3 (Health Assessment 8/27-12/16)
Tuesday- 9-11:30 or 12:30-3 (Nursing Skills I 8/27-10/21 & Nursing Skills II 10/22-12/16)
Wednesday- 9-11:30 or 12:30-3 (Nursing Skills I 8/27-10/21 & Nursing Skills II 10/22-12/16)
Friday - 8-12 or 12-4 (Intro to Nursing 8/27-10/21)
Online- Legal and Ethical Issues for Nurses (10/22-12/16)
Also about the book cds.... I'm almost done with my first semester finals and I have not used the cds once this semester. I have however used the online access codes that come with the book (the little scratch off code that's written on the inside cover) but it's not mandatory, I just used it for practice questions just in case.
Hi warren , I just seen the list you posted do you know of my good extra study guides or anything useful?. Also are you selling any of your book from your past semesters?:)
Thanks SO much for the info, I appreciate you took time to post that.. it helps! I am an alternate and just trying to outweigh the pros and cons of each schools schedules that will work for me just in case one should call me.

Most of all my classes I have taken for the past 3 years are online.....I looooovveeee it. Do not worry you will be just fine I know it. With online I always like more because your assignments for the semester are laid out and there is a calendar and it tells you when things are due....I just enjoy it because I feel like I have more notification about when an assignment is due and have longer to work on it....Usually, the few campus courses I have taken you go on Monday be given an assignment than must be turned in on Wednesday....I just feel that you have more time and it is more relaxing to take an online course.....You know what it's funny is that I was talking to my parents yesterday and I mentioned the online course and I said that one I am not worried about at all.
My professor is Key I believe, can not remember the first name. Cynthia I think.

Oh really that's the same professor I have , I read her raitings on rate my professor and she seem like a nice teacher, maybe we could create a study group with other students as well.
Hi there, I am an alternate and just to let you know my certified profile was looked at today 12/13 by cyfair. Not my 1st choice of the two but if given the opportunity I will take it. Has anyone else been looked at. Did any kingwood people get their profile looked at?
do you mind me asking what your score was?
