Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54
well I am retarded that I can't use my financial aid until January 6...I got an email the other day about book advances being available to that is why I thought I could get them now but when I called they informed me to scroll down that email and it says avaialbe January 6..So I guess I got all excited for nothing and now I will have late Christmas gift...Oh well better late than never.....I think I deserve it anyway so I do not feel bad at all about spending the money on myself.
Jenn it is 10. Don't forget the nursing drug guide.
Oh okay....I was checking out that list they sent us and for the drug guide there is a link and I clicked it and you can buy the book for like 45 dollars or download the app....I almost downloaded the app on my laptop. I do not know if the app is free or not....
Well the ebook is 467 and the books are 587 I might be off a few bucks....Still have not decided b/w ebook and regular textbooks
If you pay for the app make sure to get it from the lww website. I downloaded the paid version from apple and it did not download on my phone put it did on my ipad and kept asking me if I wanted to pay for full access. Have you gotten your scrubs or anything?
I have not got my scrubs, shoes, stethoscope, penlight, hemostats or books yet....My car is in the shop with 2500 dollars worth the repairs....My dad wants my car to be tip top shape so when I need to commute to clinical sites we should not have any problems with it for awhile...fingers crossed.
Well it looks like I am going to be purchasing a tablet for nursing school.....Are you going to be buying ebook or what? Ten textbooks is a lot to carry around
what do we do at clinicals... How many breaks do we get if anybody knows???
You apply what you've learned in Nursing Skills labs. Clinical rotations are when you get hands on with live human beings, not simulation mannequins on campus. You will shadow nurses on the floor, learn to get report, learn the ins and outs of documentation, lab values, vital signs, etc.
Breaks? You're kidding right?
I will be buying the books not the ebooks. I ordered my pen light, blood pressure thing, forceps and bandage scissors, but on back order. Still have to get the scrubs, jacket, and shoes. Thank God I already purchased and received my stethoscope. And goodness that's a lot of money. I pray everything goes smooth for you.
