Jen1310 Don't worry about your past mistakes. I had a 1.71 and now have a 3.35. Keep all your pre-reqs at A's. There is a good pharmacology class offered at Kingwood online and an easy A! PM me for details. Remember it is not "IF" you meet your goal, it is when you meet your goal. You can and will do it!!!
Thats almost exactly what my gpa is right now :/ how long did it take you to bring it up? Unfortunately I can't pm you it won't let me for some reason! Thank you for the encouragement! I believe I can meet my goals its just proving to other people that I'm serious about these goals! what is that pharmacology class? i would love to be able to add another class this semester to help boost my gpa!

I would love to connect as well and should be attending cyfair spring 2014 ( as long as there aren't any disastrous red tape snafus ) I did most of my pre-reqs in Louisiana and won't know anyone when I start. My best email is [email protected].
Is there a facebook group for our class yet? If not I may set one up, just seems like an easy way to discuss the program.
jen1310- I'm not sure about your gpa question but as far as applying: the hesi was pretty hard so keep good notes and learn the material as your taking your classes( don't just study to pass the tests). It's not insanely hard, but it covers a lot of material so it's hard to study for. I bought the Hesi study guide but personally didn't think it covered much of what was on the test...still get the study guide, but I recommend using QUIZLET and other study forums as well...there is a lot of study material on there for the HESI...by subject and overall. I would recommend taking the HESI after you complete your A&P's...right after...don't give your self a chance to forget.
Other than that...just know that they don't hold your hand through the application process...so read and re-read and stay on top of the requirements.
:) good luck to you!

I will have a 10.8, but I'm confused about how I should rank my schools. Montgomery and Tomball are about the same distance away for me. North Harris is the next campus that is closest. If you were me would you rank it Tomball, Montgomery, NH or Montgomery, Tomball, NH (Montgomery is a longshot, but I really would like to go there). Has anyone ever been accepted to Montgomery with a score below 11? Please help! Distance is a huge factor for me because I'm a single mom.
Anyone?

With a gpa below 11 I think your best bet is NH.

How long did it take? 3 years of all A's going to school 6-9 credit hrs a semester. Single mom, 3 kids, working p/t etc.....My 1.71 was from 30 years ago. Don't worry about proving to others, prove it to yourself! The pharm class is the only one listed online through Kingwood. We cant mention prof names on here but I will tell you she is the most organized online prof I have ever had. I won't kid you, it is alot of work but I have a 95. If you take this course make sure you get e-book access to search for answers to weekly chapter homework. Another helpful (not required) class is medical terminology. I took on line and if your interested I can find out prof name. Easy A. It will help in the long run. But don't be concerned with classes that are not part of the ones that add points for your nursing application. You are unable to PM because you dont have enough posts yet. I am very careful about the professors I take for required classes and will drive to whatever campus I need to for a good prof. Also a great place to volunteer, to get a taste of the medical field, is Tomagwa in Tomball. Whew thats a long post!
I have heard that Montgomery has the best program. I would put it first and then Tomball. My understanding is if you don't get Montgomery then you are sent for review at Tomball. CyFair has a good program too. My rank would be Montgomery, CyFair, Tomball, NH. My study partners and I have talked to alot of random people about this subject. I ended up at CyFair. Single mom... Montgomery is too far to drive. But I did attend there for 2 years, and one at Tomball. If your campus offers TRIO and you are eligible, USE IT!!!
Jen1310, Some campuses offer free HESI prep courses, NH does for sure.
Krystalias, Facebook sounds like a great idea. Let me know when you set it up. I am worried about the red tape too! No Blue Card yet. My email is [email protected]. But I'm a texter not emailer. so I'll send you my no. via email. Hopefully we get a similar schedule. I live in the library during classes!

11.35...which I thought was awesome ( until I saw everyones post on here...) good enough for me :)
I wonder if I have done something wrong. . . I have been stressing out wondering if I will get "THE" email of acceptance. I am beating myself up with "should haves" and "could haves". Nothing personal at all Krystalias, but my score is an 11.36 and I am an alternate. Again, I wonder if I have done something wrong, or missed something along the way.
What part of Louisiana did you live?
