Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

Oh no mze. I hope everything is okay.

I just had to give up my spot at cy fair due to unforeseen circumstances. I hope one of you guys are able to attend in my place!!! Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear that....Just remember everything happens for a reason....

Thanks guys. I hope one of you can benefit!

so does anybody know how many days do we have clinicals per week?

hey jennjenn!! did you get accepted? what campus are you attending?

One day per week

Class two days a week, clinicals one day a week and lab is 2 hours either before or after class once a week. This is for Kingwood.

I am so ready to get the list of books.

Me too!!! I would have liked to read ahead a little.

I know. Me too. But more so, so I can get paying for them off my list.

Okay if you get accepted as an alternate, how does this usually work? Is it only for if someone does not make it to the program in the beginning for any reason or are you an alternate for the entire school year?

JennJenn0205 ~ I'm not sure if this has been addressed, but I was told by KA at Cy-Fair that only at the beginning do alternates get accepted. If someone drops out after a week of classes, then it is just tough! It is sad that someone may not be totally devoted to the program. Of course, life does happen, and we can't help some things.

GOOD LUCK!!!

It's a big deal to be getting this far...I am the only one who has gone to college and stuck with it in my family...My kids and I have struggled with a certain lifestyle....my parents and my boyfriend supporting my kids financially, but one day that will change baby....oh yes it will......I listen to everyone try to talk me out of nursing even the advisors " are you sure nursing is something you want to get into?....u know that it's very competitive right?" I'm glad I just stuck with it.......I did get discouraged a few times looking at how many students I met that were trying to major in nursing as well......U can not listen to people around u and just follow your dreams and something will happen in your favor

RIGHT ON JennJenn... I did listen to "those" people the first time I went to college, and decided to believe them. I didn't apply to nursing school because they said it was too hard, and too competitive!... I went into business. I did great, graduated with a BS in less than 4 years, while raising 3 kids on my own. That was 10 years ago. I can't find a "good" job, and I actually hate managing people. So GOOD FOR YOU for not listening to those people. I wish you all the luck in nursing school and remember, when it gets tough, that you CAN DO IT!!!
