lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

well shoot I got into kingwood with an 11.14 so u should not be that far down the alternate list

well getting accepted as an alternate for 2 campuses is waaaayyy better than just one....So I am confident in your acceptance

yea I am happy that I got in! it'll be a drive for me but I don't care, I am happy to beheading towards my goals!

I know right I put cy-fair down as my second choice...I don't even know where that campus is for real...but I do not care.....Like I told my parents I will drive wherever as long as I get in......

The only thing is also is my son is 3 so I need to find something for him.....I started school when he was 3 months old and now he is 3 1/2 years old

Girl me too! Its been a rough road but it just shows that it pays off to NEVER GIVE UP! And the advisors are terrible! I had one tell me, "Theres no way you can work and go to school full time, you're going to have to pick one or the other." Like..WHAT?!?! You are suppose to encourage NOT discourage. lol I just walked out. Now the real battle is going to be finding time to study and balance family life. I am single with no children and give MAJOR props to all the parents out there that work, manage school, and take care of a family all at the same time, I couldn't even imagine having to do that. MAJOR KUDOS to them! :)

does anyone know where you can get fast track vaccines? I was told I have to wait 6 months after I initially got my first Hep B shot to get my final one. And I started in August thus I won't be done before the deadline....

Aleeceness you should be able to do a titer test for hepB just make sure they would accept that.

U know what I have something to say about that too. My hep B shot I got last October and than I got the second shot in January....When I went this summer for the next one they would not give me the third one because they showed in their computer that I had one in like 1993. I was like 9 years old in 1993. They said I already have 3, I was like whatever....I cant make them give it to me, well at least I do not think I can

I talk to cyfair.. and she said they take 50 nursing students... she couldn't tell me what alternate spot I was without looking at the scores. I then asked her how many alternate have they typically accepted... she said sometimes all our alternate applicants have been accepted!!

Well that is fantastic!

Do anyone know where I can get the titers done. I live in north houston.

So I guess we all have to do titers right? If you find a decent price to get it done let know please!
