lonestar nursing 2014 hopeful

Published

Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54

I'm sorry but I am soooo stoked about being accepted still.....i do not think that it has sunk in all the way

I guess my main question is: If people were accepted to both places- did they take up spots at both places until they sign their letter of intent? OR do they just send an acceptance to their first choice if they applied to both? I hope that doesn't sound too confusing lol

i believe it happens more than you think....they would not have so many alternates if the spots never came available...u know

i do not think that they can be accepted to both lone star campuses.....well yes that too they need to send their letter for intent to enroll also sometimes they find out the program is something not for them once they go to orientation

Thanks jennjenn0205! I read some of your post and I know how you are feeling... hasn't sunken in yet...such a great future planned for you and your kids! I haven't gotten a full blown acceptance but atleast I know that I am closer that ever! Most people don't understand the stress and hardship nursing students go through just be accepted and they don't realize how hard and competitive it really is. Im sure our family and friends can somewhat relate because they hear us talk about it all the time but its a different feeling when you know that you are in and you have accomplished half the battle just by getting accepted! So again... CONGRATS!

hey aleeceness we had the same score and both got accepted into kingwood....idk about u but I was not planning on making it in this time around.....but more than happy that I did

apparently they are not accepting people at both places bc I applied at both and didn't hear back from cfair bc I was acepted at kingwood. I was told that this morning by the nursing department this morning......

okay thanks for the info!

thank you malcoker.......what campus where u accepted as an alternate? did u call the nursing department to find out if they could let u know what number u hold on the alternate list

It's a big deal to be getting this far...I am the only one who has gone to college and stuck with it in my family...My kids and I have struggled with a certain lifestyle....my parents and my boyfriend supporting my kids financially, but one day that will change baby....oh yes it will......I listen to everyone try to talk me out of nursing even the advisors " are you sure nursing is something you want to get into?....u know that it's very competitive right?" I'm glad I just stuck with it.......I did get discouraged a few times looking at how many students I met that were trying to major in nursing as well......U can not listen to people around u and just follow your dreams and something will happen in your favor

I was accepted as an alternate for both Kingwood and Cyfair (that's why I asked about the confirmed acceptances for each school). I emailed them both asking what number I was on the list, just waiting for a reply. ------ is out today so I wont know about Kingwood until tomorrow. I applied with a 10.82. I still plan on doing all that I need to do for both schools just so I don't loose my spot.
