Hi, just wanted to start a post about my process of applying at lonestar. Hope to hear from other applicants! I have just taken my HESI and will be applying for the spring semester with a score of 11.54
I was also told I would I hear back from 4-6 weeks after the deadline. The deadline was sept. 5. I turned my application in the last week of august. We should be getting notification in September as promised, but I guess they can send notification whenever they are ready. I was wondering about the drug test.....do we have one at orientation and than have more possibly at clinical sites? I think we have to pay for them as well too....if someone knows I am wondering how it goes
Orientation is just that, orientation where you'll get the in-outs, a few death-by-powerpoint presentations and some minor "Welcome to Nursing School" stuff. After a break for lunch, you will go to a designated room depending on program (Radiology, Sonography, LVN, ADN).
Once the semester begins, there will be another meeting of the medical programs and then are required to submit for urinalysis. Yes, you have to pay for it, expect $45.
In regards to the specific clinical site requirements, you will travel to your clinical sites on a clinical day and sit through HIPAA classes as well as the hospital/care site's mandatory CYA presentations (Cover Your Ass).
