Lonestar nursing applicants for spring 2016

Hi guys! I will be applying for lonestar cyfair and a few others in the spring of 2016. I was wondering if anyone had started studying for the hesi and also what grades have they gotten so far in their classes!

I've already taken the HESI, and so far I"m 6.28 on the scale. I'm debating retaking it.

So far i have a B in english and an A in anatomy. I am retaking english now in hopes of getting an A. So far i have a 3.57 and I haven't taken the hesi yet put plan on in july. How did you study for the hesi?

I study the book recommended on Lone Star College's website! I didn't study much though ... thats probably why I got an 85%. Do you need the author of the book? I can look for it if you like. Im debating on retaking it ...

I looked online and ordered the book they recommended and 2 other books. How did you study for the anatomy section? I wont be in a&p2 until summer 2 so im nervous about taking the test without finishing a&p2

Found this site while taking a break from studying for the HESI. :) I am applying for the spring 2016 class at Kingwood. How was the test? I wonder what the cutoff for the new scoring system was for this past application period. Do ya'll know?

I looked at the nursing forum for the last application period and the lowest score i saw was a 6.2

It seems though Fall gets a TON more applicants than spring for some reason. I'm sitting at 6.28 if I stay with my HESI, I probably won't and I'm scheduled for retest Aug 4. I need to get close to a perfect score to even compete with anyone. As long as there isn't 100+ applicants I'll be good!

Hi! I'm applying for the ADN program at CyFair as my first choice I took the HESI today for the second time and got an overall score of 83.6% which is way better than my first score. I have an A in both A&P 1&2 and a B in English so my score is 6.844 out of 8. I plan to take it again in 60 days which is right before the HESI deadline for the spring program. I want my score to be in the 7s at a minimum when I apply bc I heard CyFair is the hardest to get into.

I would also recommend studying the book on the lonestar website (elsevier) it's perfect for the math, grammar, vocabulary & English part but the A&P part you will need to find other sources in addition to the book and study study study. there are only 30 questions in that section so it's easy to miss a few and get a lower score. use practice tests online as well as notes from class!!!
