Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Published

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

I am registered for the second session...took me forever to decide which one I wanted to do lol. Did Necia by chance email or tell you the package options with prices? Really wish that could have been a part of our handouts. :/ I wrote the prices down, but I could barely see, and I'm still kind of lost on what books are/aren't in the package.

I'm gonna try to email her today...I'll post her response on here for anyone who may need it.

I'm at work now but I'm pretty sure it is the first five books on the list. I have the prices at home. Necia emailed me on the question I had about the package isbn. I'm getting the 400$ package that includes the ebooks.

Hello again! I want to share this information, in case someone else has their finger prints rejected. I went today for a reprint of my prints because mine were rejected the first time around. This time, I did my research and found that others were recommending corn huskers lotion as a solution to getting good finger prints. Also, I read limit hand washing and don't use hand santizer--start treatment approx. 4 days in advance of your finger print appt. The lady taking my prints said that mine were coming out great this time, and I would not be rejected again. She said that she could tell that I had been lubricating my hands. I told her that I was using corn huskers lotion, and she said that it was the best. She said that in two days my finger prints will be processed and sent to the BON. I should get my blue card in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, she is right.

Southern doll did you ever get any info from Necia? I'm going to the bookstore first thing tomorrow morning so I can get my package ordered.

I got my blue card! Gosh I can finally stop stressing! I am so happy it feels like I got accepted all over again lol!!

Great news, Amberly! It will be same feeling for me too. Still waiting for my blue card.
