Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

yazi28 What??? If it is like the basic ADN program, you should be able to use the AP 1- Biol 2401, your A. You should check into this? Make sure you hear it from a higher up, like the head of the nursing dept. Sorry! Good Luck!

Keep asking until you're satisfied with their explanation. You can't know what to expect or what's expected of you until you understand the how's and why's. I was thinking the same thing a few minutes ago. I'm curious as well how they came up with that if you already have an A.

If i remember correctly or I have to go pull up a scoring sheet I think you have to have them both complete for them to consider either score.

amberly 27 and see if that was the case then ok, but at the same time I find it silly if I already have the A it should not matter what i get in 2402 because the A is already there I mean if I would have gotten A B in 2401 I would understand they need to see the AP 2 and see the highest but in my case I already have it I mean I can't get any higher than an A regardless of what I get in anatomy 2

Oh I definitely agree, it is silly because I find AP 1 and 2 to be more challenging than 2404 and for them take that B over your A sucks. But yes I just read scoring chart and you have to have them both completed for them to take either which also sucks.

Oh I get it now. For some reason I thought it only applied to ADN but I guess not. So its either intro or ap 1&2 averaged? That does stink.

You still have an opportunity yet though yaz, don't count yourself out!

I know I mean I could still get in but with a 6.36 I doubt it so it's just a real blow to my hope :/

Don't give up hope yet! Scoring is only half of the process. The advisor at the Montgomery campus told me that the last few application sessions for LVN that all of the applicants were excepted because they just don't have near the amount of applicants for it than they do for ADN. So you never know! Keep the faith!
