Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

Well all I can say is I know waiting for acceptance letters can be nerve racking. Just try to sit back and enjoy your free time because believe me once the program starts you will want all the free time you can get.

I have no time with my kids, laundry for sure does not get washed and I am not a very pleasant person to be around lately. This is just the small price I pay to be in nursing school.

So I was looking at last application period and they got their letters on April 3rd! Hopefully it will be then or sooner for us!

Oh god I hope it is as soon as April 3! that is only about a week!:) I am so nervous its killing me :/ but I have faith that I will get in, I got accepted as an alternate to Kingwood's ADN program in 2012 with an 11.33, but I found out I was pregnant and decided not to follow through, and it was a good thing because I would've missed a week of school for a c-section, everything happens for a reason: and now I really have the motivation to get through nursing school and make the best life possible for my baby girl! I believe in all of us and we will all succeed no matter what!

Do not give up yet! I had a friend just get accepted to Montgomery's LVN program with a 6.57 so there is always a chance and many of the alternates also got accepted if they followed all the registration guides like normal! So keep those spirits up:)

Yeah, I know it's tough. Hang in there. I once heard a nursing student tell me that she literally had to divorce her husband, when nursing school was in session. Also, she said that she never cussed so much in her life.

Hey guys hope everyone is well! I can't believe it is now time to do the waiting game! I'm definitely busy with my classes this semester so hopefully that helps the time pass faster. Yazi I'm sorry to hear they took the B instead of the A. An advisor explained to me that since A&P 1 doesn't cover all the organ systems that's why they can take intro to A&P but not just A&P 1 without 2. Frustrating I know, but like everyone else said don't give up hope!
