Lonestar 2014 Fall Hopefuls!

Ok I know it's very early starting this but I am so excited I couldn't help it! Application period doesn't even start until January! My journey has been a long one and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so I am sharing a little of that experience here and I would love to hear from others as well.

I just received my clearance letter from the BON so I am clear to apply in January for North Harris and Montgomery ADN programs, unfortunately I missed Kingwood. At this point I have an 11.1 and I'm about to retake the HESI so we shall see what is in store for me. I'm done with all my pre-reqs for my BSN and I'm so ready to start the next phase of my education and get on with more taking care of people! It's been 25 years since I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Twenty years of raising my kids, taking care of soldiers' families and single soldiers and eight years of riding in an ambulance later, I'm ready to follow my dream! Watch me go!

J.G. told me this morning that we will be notified by mid April. She said if I didn't receive a letter by mid April to call her. This applies to n.h. but I'm sure the other campuses are similar. I would call to verify. Six weeks is so far away!!! Lol.

I was wondering if anyone knows, which school is the hardest to get into? I am trying to figure out what school to select for my third and fourth option. It appears that I am approximately the same distance from Cypress and Montgomery. Does anyone know how many students are accepted at each of the four schools for the ADN, basic program? Does anyone know what the requirements are for the Hepatitis B shot?

This is what I do know. Hope it helps!*Accepted students for the ADN program will be 50 at Lone Star College-CyFair,*50 at Lone Star College-Tomball,*40 at Lone Star College-Montgomery, and 120 at Lone Star College-North Harris.*Montgomery and Cyfair both have higher cutoff scores but both were lower than yours last round. So you never know! Cyfairs program is blocked instead of integrated. N.H. has the lowest cutoff scores.

If you've never had a Hep B round you need proof of your first shot at application time. If you have, go get a titer to verify your immunization if needed and send proof with your application. N.H. nursing dept website has tons of info and the online info session may answer a few questions too!

Hello all! I have a question. After taking the hesi, how did you guys send the scores to Lonestar? Do I call need to call Elsevier and ask them to send my scores to lonestar Cyfair or is it sent automatically to the school? I wish the best of luck to everyone

Have you taken the hesi somewhere else and need to send lscs the scores? If so then yes you need to contact them about sending the scores to the college. There are instructions on the lscs/hesi website.

If you haven't, then before you take the hesi, go to the Elsevier website and create an account with username and password you will remember. When you take the hesi at lscs you will sign in with that username and password. Thats it!

Thanks SparklesMedic! I dug through my filing cabinet and found an old lab report showing my Hep B immunity. I hoping this is good enough for proof. Maybe, I should call or email them and make sure this is okay. I have a question regarding the FERPA form, it shows Notary Public on the bottom. Do I need a Notary Public for this form? Thanks for being so helpful! One last question, do you know what the cut off score for Tomball was last year?
