Lonestar 2011 ADN Hopefuls

Published

I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?

Good luck to all applying:)

Congrats Wissanweese!! You shouldn't have any problem getting into Montgomery with that high of a score. If you look back at the thread from last years applicants their were people who got accepted with much lower scores than yours, so be happy!!

Good luck!

Thanks TxDiscodiva! This is my 3rd time to take the Hesi and I have had all of my pre-reqs done for a while, so I am so excited! I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel...I won't be in college forever! lol! Now I'm just waiting for my scores to populate in the app system so I can apply. That will be such a great feeling!

Best of luck to all of you applying!!

I want to apply to cy-fair because it's really close. I'm not sure I'll get in with the score I have(11.5664) though so I might make north harris my primary. I don't understand how the school prefernce system works. Ex. If I list cy-fair as first choice and north harris as second choice, how do I get added in the application pool for north harris if I'm denied at cy-fair. Do they put you behind anyone who chose north harris as their first choice? I don't know I will have the nursing office hopefully clear it up so I can make the right decision. I have to get in this time or I'm gonna go to the air force. I've been trying for to long.

Hi,

I just wanted to pop my head in and reply to your question, hinayan99. I was having the same issue trying to figure out where to get the eval. I'm not sure if it works the same way at Montgomery, but at Tomball they just printed my evaluation at the advising office for me. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks TinaMari, I will talk to Montgomery advisors then.

can i ask a question, this is my 1st time applying. what do you need to pass in hard copy to the nursing office? my hesi score didn't arrive yet in my score sheet; how many days will it go in my profile so that i can apply?

ray-ray, they usually say it takes a week to post the score. but my experience says that it gets updated in 2-3 days. here are the instructions we need to follow in order to apply.

  1. print and sign application.
  2. print and sign correct score sheet. do not turn in your score sheet without your hesi scores listed.
  3. turn in hard copy of #1 and #2 and printed evaluation into the nursing office at the campus of 1st choice only.

Okay, I took the hesi test today just to see what the format looks like. I got a 83.86 % for cummulative score. Some of the stuff i remember from the AP section is XXXX. For vocabs, you can study it evolve study guide which can be borrow from the library and you can only use it for 2 hours and return the book back. The math is very basic, just look at the study guide math portion and you should do fine.

What's your score and where r u applying??

my scores arent up yet and almost a week has already passed..

anyway..i have a question..

for the hep b vaccination...last app period..it was okay if you didnt bring copy of evidence..

is it the same this app period...?

and yea..i dont know where the evaluation either...

louroque, I had my score posted very next day. For the Hep B, this time we have to submit the proof of the first shot taken....

so i went and checked if my hesi grades are up..and they got my reading score wrong. they put 66 when it should be 89

but they did get my english composite score right...

i hope they fix this soon so i can apply...
