Anyone out there applying to Lone Star Tomball LVN program? Any advice from past or present students?
I will be applying in late August/1st week of September and would love to chat with other hopefuls. :)
@gmarks, did you email the nursing department asking if they were going to extend the due date for the letters of intent? I think they should do this communication thing by email. I have heard that some schools do email out application status. I am worried I will not receive the letter until after 6 on Friday the day the letter of intent is due back to Tomball, then what? What if I got accepted and did not receive the letter until after the due date? You know if we receive the letters today and have to have it back there by 430p Friday we could not mail it back and get it there on time. I think I am going to go scream into my pillow.
anonkah- I sure hope your right. I was not aware of any transition for the nursing department. I will be sending them an email and seeing if they are going to extend the return date.
When I turned in my application, I had to turn it in at the admissions/resgistration office downstairs because the nursing office had already moved (so I was told). I don't know much about that campus, I am from Cy Fair.
What was everyone's score (to those who haven't received a letter yet)?I'm starting to get nervous now. I don't understand why it's taking so long to receive anything from them.
I applied with a 6.72. I had a 6.3 last application period and got an alternate spot at Kingwood. I let that go ( :smackingf ) because hubby didn't want me driving that far everyday. Although, if you ask me, Katy to Tomball isn't a big difference from Katy to Kingwood
I'm so frustrated this time :hdvwl:. Kingwood had my letter to me within 2 weeks.
@Alexandria My score is right around your score so I guess we are in the same boat, except that I have not yet received the letter confirming my denial.
I ran across this other student in one of my classes. Turns out that she was applying to Cy-fair ADN as first choice and Kingwood as 2nd choice. Her score was 11.21 and mine 11.24. Well, I got a spot as an alternate to Cy-fair and she got a spot as an alternate to Kingwood. I think I am the last on the alt list at Cy-fair, so my chances are so very slim of getting in over there this semester If I have to apply the next go around I have to pass Math 0310 by next semester. Math is not my strong point, so I am not sure........

And I had 7.0444 and I have not received anything in the mail. I am sure they will take a fax if you have a problem getting out there on Friday. My class is from 7-755a and then 1015-1140 and I am finished with classes on Fri. So if I were to receive a letter by Friday I would be able to drive it out there.
