Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

If you placed into college math through TSI, are you eligible to apply to the ADN program or do you have to take a college math? I was accepted a couple years back being TSI compliant but I received a D in college algebra.

College Algebra is not a requirement for the ADN program through Lone Star. It is only a requirement for your BSN.

Okay, phew. I've taken my HESI and have everything lined up. I can rest easier now knowing that it wasn't a fluke and I won't get held up by lacking a college math course. Thank you!

Does anyone know if MacBook is compatible to all of our nursing programs such as Lippincott? Trying to find the best laptop to buy? Also are y’all buying all the text books at one time or only what we need for the first semester?

I’m not sure about the laptop but I was looking at some teachers syllabi and they say you just need google chrome so as long as you have that app or extension on your laptop any laptop should be fine. I, personally, am just getting the textbooks we need for first semester for now.

Thanks so much! Which books are needed for the first semester? Are you Kingwood or Cy-Fair

I’m CyFair! But Lemme check and I’ll let you know(:

I was accepted into utmb summer 2021. So another spot should be opening up for lonestar cyfair.

Congratulations

I'm sorry I'm so late but this is what I found. What I did was look up the syllabi from this semester for the classes we have to take and found out what textbooks were required and I will be purchasing these, until I find out if we need more.
