Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

I thought I was the only one. I’m having issues logging in as well.

Hi guys! I been lurking here for some time, and I have a question! I have currently a 4.0 gpa for the prerequisites and I just took the hesi for the first time and I scored an 88.8 cumulative average my critical thinking was 980. After calculating it becomes 7.552. Do you think I should retake it to improve my score? I plan to apply for the fall 2020.

I would suggest retaking the hesi honestly. 7.5 for spring is boarderline! And fall semester which is not a competitive as spring cut off was 7.3! So i would suggest retaking it

If you don’t mind me asking what is your score? Do you know what the cut off score is for spring?

I was not planning to apply in the spring because I won’t be able to get my shots in time. Plus I am afraid ill score lower if I retest idk if I should risk it.

7.5 looks very good for Fall. Even for Spring it looks decent. It does toe the line for January. The cutoff last Fall I think was 7.3 or something like that. I'm willing to bet a 7.5 is great for Fall admission.

Should we start the list of scores for everyone on the forum? Apps are closing so soon! After you apply add your name, score and which school you applied to below and just copy and paste the list.

By the way to the person who asked what my Hesi score was (at least I think you were asking me) I got a 93.6 and an 810 on the critical thinking.

I also am experiencing the login problem. I was checking to make sure my application was submitted and there were no problems like someone mentioned earlier where it is unsubmitted. I emailed the director of the Kingwood program asking to check my application. Luckily she said everything looks good. I would recommend y'all do that too with your first choices just to be safe.

Starting to worry now that my 7.6 won't be enough.

I think you should be fine. a 7.6 is good. Looking through the thread it looked like most scores were in the 7.5-7.6 range.
