Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

Can someone tell me which of the Lone Star programs does NOT go through the summer? It appears that Cyfair is continuous, but perhaps some of the others are not? thank you

I believe cyfair is the only one that does.

Do that mean you finish sooner attending cyfair?

I believe so. If two students start in Spring, one a Cy-Fair and one at Kingwood the Cy-Fair student would finish around May 2021. Kingwood would finish December 2021. Cy-Fair is the only school that goes through Summer because of their Block curriculum as opposed to the Integrated one.

Just sent in my application. I applied for this fall with a 6.8 because of a C in English and was denied. I retook English and got an A so now my score is 7.744.

That’s great! How did you do on your hesi ?

Hi guys! I been lurking here for some time, and I have a question! I have currently a 4.0 gpa for the prerequisites and I just took the hesi for the first time and I scored an 88.8 cumulative average my critical thinking was 980. After calculating it becomes 7.552. Do you think I should retake it to improve my score? I plan to apply for the fall 2020.

That looks good for applying.

Just a little warning to everyone that has submitted their application for Spring 2020. You may want to log in and make sure everything looks good. I logged in over the weekend and all of my required documents were missing. I contacted the department and they said that IT couldn't see my campus selections so my application needed to be resubmitted. If I hadn't checked and resubmitted I wouldn't have been considered for this round.

I have heard of this happening before. I keep nervously checking. I wonder how many applications they are getting.

Hey guys! So I submitted my application already! Where is everyone's first choice?? I had to re-apply because I did not graduate at the Cyfair location this past spring
