First off, let me start by congratulating all of you for making it this far!:yeah:

I know first hand just how long these next few weeks will be. It is definitely worth it! I've read a lot of great advice (courtesy of Tee :loveya:) and I've read a lot of very good questions. True, CyFair is in a league of its own. I can't help too much there, sorry, but I can definitely help answer questions about Kingwood.

Someone had asked if someone had ever scored a perfect 12. The answer to that question is NO. From what I was told by the previous director, the highest score received to date (spring 2009) was 11.76. True, the cut off for last semester was 11.45. But don't get discouraged if your score is lower or in that neighborhood. The cutoff is different every semester.

As for retaking pre req classes you have made a "B" in, definitely retake them and shoot for that "A". Every point on that application helps! As for Pharm, if you can, take it. If you've taken it and it's been awhile, brush up on your math. Tee isn't kidding about those math tests. You can pass every test and do great in lab and clinicals, but if you can't pass the med math test, you don't pass the class.:banghead:

Good luck to all of you! Hope to see you all on campus next semester!

But it wasn't it. anyways...I sure hope we all get in!!!! I'm soooo ready! oh and MICROS kickin my butt man! So far I've done well, but geez, lotta lotta material. Can't wait to see what it looks like when I get in the program! :D

How much of our lives do we spend waiting? lol....

I am waiting and waiting and waiting... I feel like my entire life is hanging on this letter, I mean it is my future lol. It's crazy to know that we could possibly not know what we will be doing this Spring until November... isn't that short notice lol. I know I am 'lol'ing' a lot... I am nervous what can I say :)

Good luck to yall and let's keep in touch, we all gotta stick together during this crazy ordeal. :D

Hi everyone,

I'm in the same boat. I applied to the Kingwood program for Spring 10 as well.

Someone on here asked what our scores were. I think I got around 11.75 or 11.76.

I can't remember exactly. It was 94 in Math and 94 in reading.

Is anyone else getting discouraged over all these threads saying that we won't be able to find jobs with an ADN?

I applied to UTHSC BSN program also and didn't get in because they didn't accept my fine arts credit. That left me one pre-req short on my Spring application. Most people have to worry about their grades in science. Evidently, I have to worry about not receiving credit for dance! :chuckle So silly. How does that apply to nursing!?

I keep hearing that NY and NJ boards of nursing are trying to do away with the ADN programs in their states completely. I hope this doesn't become the popular thing to do!

Best of luck to everyone! I hope we get those letters soon!

Nina7334. That's a good score and I think it will be good enough to get in. It will all depend on the applicant pool I guess. The last information I heard regarding scores was in the information session I attended and they said 11.4 was competitive. Hopefully we will get those letters soon! I didn't get into my first choice so, like you, this is my last option!

My oh my. The more I read, the more I freaking out. I sure do hope we get these letters SOON! I didn't get into my first choice either, which was Montgomery....so I'm right there with yall. I need to get in here....I think my score was 11.49...something like that.

As far as the thing about NJ and NY...how they are supp doing away with ADN. hmmm....it doesn't bother me at all because I really doubt that they will or anywhere else will either. I know that they are talking about doing away with LVN's....but never heard anything about ADN!

OMG...I am so tired of waiting. :banghead: It has been over a month and still nothing. I feel this is definitely the hardest part...waiting. I had hoped when I had heard that we should know by Oct 15 that meant by then....like we would have already received it. :p Oh well, I really wish the letters will come soon so I can figure out a plan B should I not get in. I think I have a competitive score and hope it holds true though it seems recently that my luck is horrible. I wish everyone the best for the future. P.S. If anyone should get a letter please post so the others know it's on the way. :D Good Luck to all!!!

Hehe... I'm like Coulter, the more I read the more I get nervous. Everytime I see one of yall who has a higher score then me I'm counting and am like 'ok well that's one more person ahead of me' :( Is there anything else that they go off besides the points, like GPA, previous degrees, etc? My score was 11.49 and w/ all these high scores I'm seeing I don't know if competitive is good enough. Hmm... well I guess waiting for the letter is going to be consuming my life for the next few weeks, wonder if those ppl at the nursing dept. know our pain haha. Good luck and post if you guys hear anything.

I have read all the posts and truly understand this rollercoaster ride we are experiencing. I agree, I feel a little anxiety as well when I see other posters who have scores higher than mine (11.5744). I have put all of my eggs in one basket by applying to Kingwood because I have a full-time day job. I have no one else supporting me..but myself. I want a career in Nursing just as bad as all of you. We will all get acceptance letters, I just believe that down in my soul. Don't let your faith waiver in anyway. I am praying daily for all of us. Our "acceptance" letters are on the way:yeah:
