Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

So the mist of waiting for RN is any body else applying for LVN since the application is opening next week?

Hello Everyone, I have a quick question. My application was rejected due to not having the right documentation for my immunizations. So I went to the clinic and got a titer done for Rubella, Hep B surface Qual and Quantative, Varicella, Mumps and Measles.

Everything came back as me having immunity. I got these shots years ago in the army.

So my next question is, will this be the documentation I send them? Or do I have to show them the documentation of me not being immune at first, then the documents of me being immune now?

The reason I ask is because it will take at least 3 months for my documents to be processed through the military.

If anyone knows in detail what to do in regards to this I would really appreciate your help. Thank you.

I feel retarded for this, but I was going to get the hepatitis shots lmao! I misread everything and submitted the first shot record. I'll admit I did not thoroughly read through it because I was more worried about everyone saying it takes 3 months to do. So I just wanted to show them I had already started the process

Don’t feel that way! I’m barely understanding the shots now and I already did the program at Cyfair once lol so my understanding is you have to show proof you got the first 3 shots. If you did and you’re not immune (as it was in my case) I had to get a booster shot. Then get the quantitative titer done again. I was immune by the booster shot so I had to submit all the documents. The three shots I got YEARS ago, the booster, and the most recent titer.

you only need the three shots that take months if you never got the three shots in the first place and you’re not immune.

Well I only need one more shot to "finish" the series that I started. But the titer I got already showed that I was "immune" and that was because we did this in the military. Just not sure what to give them now. I would think that I could give them my recent test stating that i'm already immune though.

Did you never get the series when you were a kid?? I would say if it shows you’re immune then just submit that. Especially if you’ve never been in the program before. I would think! But read if you need to also show proof of the series or not

I'm pretty sure I did as well, I was trying to figure that out also. I remember getting tons of shots, but as a kid, I have no idea what they were giving me lol.

I was going to contact my high school to see if they had anything. I just want to make sure i'm submitting the right stuff to them.

I would think since i'm immune to everything, got a recent test stating that I am, that they would accept that........

I would also think so!

I think you’re overthinking things way too much! If you have a recent titer that shows immunity, you should be fine. Go ahead and resubmit your app and hope for the best!

Thank you, and yes I feel i'm overthinking it way too much also. It's just that I don't want the application to get rejected again and then whoever reads it say..."This person can't even submit the right information and he want's us to let him in to be a nurse?"

I know it's completely far fetched lol but I just want to make sure I give them the right stuff lol.
