Lone Star Fall 2020

Published

It may be early but around this time, those applying to Fall 2020 are engulfed in an A&P course trying for the grades needed. Collaboration and early encouragement can only help. Fall seems to be the large cycle and a lot have had the same instructors. Some of us could even be sitting by each other in class and not know.

I know we cannot say who we are taking. I'm in A&P 1 at Tomball in a hybrid course. If I can be of any help I will do so. I have a study guide for A&P that's about 90 pages. In addition, I have a pdf of one of the books (I think it's Marieb).

Goodxluck in class everyone and hope to see you in nursing school in the Fall!

I received a confirmation email; but that was all. I would hope that they will contact us if there is something wrong with our application. The director at the Cyfair campus stated they don't even start looking at applications until after the deadline. So, if there is something wrong, we're not going to have much time to correct the error before they send out acceptances.

I got an email saying to update my advising transcript because it was from dec 2019 and not jan 2020, so dont worry they’re checking for sure!

Oh that’s good to know! I’m glad they reached out to you. I’ve read on past forums that people with really high scores application got lost or was missing some things so they lost the opportunity to be selected.

I heard that Cy-Fair has you take 5-7 classes a semester (all at once) in the LVN course. Has anyone heard the same thing? How is that doable? How can they expect for people to take that many classes at once?

Cyfair’s curriculum is designed just like the curriculum at San Jac. You’ll take foundations and health assessment the first 8 weeks of the semester and then nursing skills and clinical the second eight weeks of the semester. You will continue like that for the duration of the program. You take one or two courses and a clinical every 8 weeks.

I took the hesi exam.

85.80% is my overall

maths=78

reading=86

grammar =86

critical thinking=940

A&P=96

on my two classes 4.0

my score sheet calculated 7.42 Y'all think that's a good score. I don't want to retake the hesi. I took the hesi first time made a 96 on grammar and 960 on critical thinking but failed maths so retook it second which are those stats above but I can't retake the exam cos for my other scores. I can only take hesi twice plus I don't want to lol I want to focus on the teas for sam Houston and my other classes

Oh no:( thank God honestly. I’m praying that all of us that worked hard get accepted to our choice campus ?

Amen. Though lonestar is a backup plan for me. Sam houston is my main choice then followed by prairie view A&m. I'm just applying to Lonestar to have something to fall back on God forbid anything happens with the other schools

Well good luck to you! I think your stats will most definitely get you in somewhere.

Do any of LSC nursing programs offer online classes (like pharmacology) or are they all in class?

I did my pharm class online in the summer.

I am legit dying a slow death! April 9, 2020 can't get here fast enough. I wonder why they made this application period so long. Spring 2020 application period was only two months, not three!

Man I can’t wait I feel like it’s too damn long

I did my pharm class online as well in the summer. I’ve heard that nursing professors prefer students take the course in person because they retain the knowledge better than an online student. But I actually remember a lot of things from my pharm class.
