Lone Star Fall 2012 ADN Applicants

@blondie12. I know this might be a little late, but advising is open this Friday. Next week they will not be open on Fridays until the reg. (fall) semester begins. you need to register for the classes before you can get your I.D. And you need your I.D. To get the books, it is all one big circle. What session did you get for the summer class? I will be in 3001.

Thank you for all of that info. I wasn't sure if I needed to hurry and go register or if I had some time. Since our schedules are already planned out i guess theres no rush for "good spots" hahah. I'm ordering all of my books from lww.com that i possibly can because that 20% discount is a lot. I added up a shopping cart and it's discounting each item. I recommend you should all do that! I'm going to try on scrubs today since I'll be in humble and the humble store has a sale ending today.

Looks like my summer class is 3004. Looks like that's the noon class..yes. I guess that means my only option for taking pharm before the fall is an awful sounding class in cyfair or a more fair sounding class at NH. Anyone taking Pharm there, section 1002?

Just wanted to let you know you can't take pharm at CyFair cause you must be enrolled in our nursing program.

That makes sense...when my counselor and I were trying to get me in a pharm class, the o e at Cy-fair said you have to get permission before you can register. Couldn't figure out why!

Kalisefer, y'all have to have an ID to buy books?

Yeah... we all need permission from the program to get registered for every class!! we don't even register for anything but an adviser or someone else registers our classes for us... for our first semester they waited until the last week before class to register us. And now for our 2nd semester they waited until we took finals to register us. We know since the beginning if we're part of the am or pm group, but we can't even choose where to go for clinicals (which is the same schedule for everyone, but different instructors and hospitals) :uhoh3:

Thanks for letting me know! At tomball our schedules are all planned out like that as well but pharm isn't part of our program per se, we just have to have it completed before end of nursing I.

Oh wow. We registered for whatever classes we wanted, but I knew some other schools did it for you...I just thought pharm was for anyone! Cyfair is so different!

Lol you're rigth cyfair is so different, even our program is different than the other lone stars but i've really liked it so far.. Cant wait to star med/surg clinicals next week

Yay! Hope it's a great experience for you! What hospital are you going to? I really liked the block set-up at Cyfair, but I couldn't bring myself to drive the hour there when Montgomery is less than 10 minutes away.

Is anyone taking Pharmacology (class #5849 section 1001)? It's the one that's located on Red Oak in the health professions building Tuesday/Thursday at 10 am. I am wondering if there is supposed to be a "lab" attached to that? Under class time it says 10 am - 1:40 pm but under class notes it says the class meets from 10 am - 3:15. I just wondered if something was missing...thanks!

That pharm class does end at 3:15 I am taking pharm at that location on mon wed but it is a hybrid class I wish I would have chosen the Tuesday Thursday one!!
