Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting :no:, checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy :banghead:, biting my nails :D, at the edge of my seat :coollook:, can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies! :up:

So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair? :bow:

ok....im confused when is steps for success?? I thought it was the 7th but it can't be because i have RNSG 1172...7,8,and 9....I know the class was moved because of the conflict...but i can't remember what day it was moved to.

...haha one more thing. Do we not go to our first day of clinicals on Jan 12th...do we go to orientation first and then our first day the following week.. I guess i slept during orientation...i don't remember going over this.

Hi Pink-

RNSG 1172 dates were changed to 1/6, 1/8 and 1/9 for the daytime students and to 1/3, 1/6, 1/8 and 1/10 for the evening students. First Steps to Success is on 1/7 from 8-5. They still have the dates incorrect on our class schedules because I confused myself on Wednesday night and was thinking is this correct? I remembered that I had printed out Ms. Seabacks e-mail and immediately ran to get it. The programs starts for us on 1/12 and with clinical orientation not being until 1/15, I would guess that we start clinicals the following week, the week of 1/18. :) I'm assuming you have clinicals on Mondays? :mad:

The program starts for me on tomorrow. Can I tell you guys I am too excited but scared at the same time? And to top it off, it's supposed to rain heavily tomorrow. That's just great :rolleyes:

Hi Tee. I'll be there tomorrow also , rain or shine. Are you taking a lunch with you? There's 3 books correct? Fundamentals and the workbook and also an on-line book. How many people do you think will be in the class. I figure not all 60 will have to take it right? Some may have had an equivilant class in the past. I'm hoping to get a chair in the front cause my mind wonders when I sit behind other people. I'm bringing a voice recorder also just in case it's allowed. Maybe we won't need it for this class.

I'm thinking of taking a lunch because I don't know how long we will get for lunch.. I don't know much about the Kingwood area but I know driving in, the nearest restaurants are up the freeway. I don't know how many books we need for this class, good question and I only have the fundamentals book (that's the only one I bought by myself) the rest of my books can't be bought until next week because financial aid has to give out book vouchers for the bookstore. A good portion of the class raised their hands when Ms. Seaback asked who all had to take RNSG 1172 but you know most of the class that is taking it with us is probably in the night program so I would guess 30 students or less? I was going to bring my recorder just in case also, even though this is a one week class from what I understand (I hope Mody or Soso will correct me if I'm wrong) by us taking this class, we will be checked off already for these skills when it comes time for skill check off... that's the beauty. Also, I don't want to forget anything and if my mind starts to wonder, I want to know what I missed taking notes on. I just picked up my rolling backpack, well I picked rolling luggage, lol. It's made by Jansport, here's a picture of it:

Mine has army print though. It has an extra long handle, the wheels are tight, two big front pockets and so roomy inside. It was on sale at Ross and since the regular rolling backpack was $4.00 more, I got this one for $30.00. I figure I'll be ready for whatever, right :p Hopefully it will stand up to the Jansport reputation. Depending on my mood, I like to sit at the front, by the door and sometimes in the back... I know crazy but it's true. I always have the recorder going just in case my mind starts to wander.

I just looked up the price of this backpack and it is regularly over $100, man that was a sweet deal. :smokin:

oh thats awesome... what a steal. I am debating on whether or not to get one just yet, i have heard people say you don't need to bring your books to class...but i think even if we don't have to i would want to. So...we will see how this goes..oh and for those who went to rnsg 1172 today will yall let me know if you needed any books/ which one's yall needed.

I'm back from our first day of RNSG 1172. :yeah:

Pink- You will need the Perry and Potter book, that's all for this class. We already have reading assignment(s) and will have a test every day that we are there for the rest of the days we are scheduled. The two ladies teaching the class were very nice. They gave us helpful insight into the program, what would be expected of us, and were funny/humorous. They let us know that they were there to help us anyway we needed to succeed. If the rest of the instructors are like them, we will have no problems in the program. That says alot. The two of them also teach Levels III and Level IV so God willing we make it that far(we all will) we will get to see them again.

ok thx so much! I pray we all make it that far! :) I hope all the instructors are very nice and will help us all! I have been waiting for so long to turn in all my paper work... but due to the holiday i haven't been able to... i hope its not too late for the rest of my immunizations, and the post card for my background check. I'm hoping Monday to do some major cleaning before school starts up full force again...i can't stand a dirty house lol. :)

I am so dead.....I missed class Saturday. I was confused with the schedule/date change. Can anybody tell me what the reading assignments are? I'm hoping I can catch up by next class. Pretty please and thank you!!!!
