Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting :no:, checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy :banghead:, biting my nails :D, at the edge of my seat :coollook:, can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies! :up:

So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair? :bow:

we are going to have a quiz first thing tuesday night so you may want to be prepared...

on saturday we went over handwashing, infection control, and i&o's-

  • read pages 655-659 for handwashing and pages 981-985 for i&o's. the quiz will be over both of them with some from infection control.

the points that we are going over on tuesday night are vital signs and bedmaking. (5-10pm)

  • read pages 897-905 for bed making and the entire vital signs chapter that starts on page 503.

on thursday we are practicing bathing, pericare and denture care on each other. we will also have a quiz on tuesdays points. (5-10pm)

  • you will need to bring some shorts or warm ups to wear, bathing towel, hand towel(s), toothbrush and toothpaste.

on saturday we will have two quizzes, one being the final. (830am-500pm)

  • "first steps to success" is on january 6th from 800am-500pm in the teaching theatre where orientation was held.
  • clinical orientation is on january 15th from 800am-500pm at the school. this will happen every 1st thursday of the semester. this will count as our clinical for the week, so our actual clinical will not start until january 24th.

Oh and be sure to bring your stethoscope and watch with 2nd hand on Tuesday.

i have a question...the watch i bought is like a plastic sport watch it doesnt have a second hand but it has a space where it shows you the seconds digitally, do you think this is ok? I hope so i really love this watch

Hmm I really don't know Pink, maybe... the reason they want a second handed watch is to be able to count respirations, take pulse etc.. It may though, your watch is the same concept except you don't have to play "close " attention to the seconds detail as close... I would ask on Thursday or your first day of RNSG 1172... HTH:mad:

UGH! after i was talking about my watch i thought that i would go get it to put it with all my stuff so i would be ready for the first day of class....i had all my supplies in a bag in my room in the closet...and ITS MISSING!!! ahhh....so if i can't find it i have to start all over again with the supplies! :( HOW sad.

Tee, you are an angel straight from heaven.....thank you thank you thank you!!! Are you sure Steps for Success is on the 6th though? I just went back and looked at the email from Ms. Seaback and it says it was changed to Wednesday the 7th.

If you guys haven't checked, we have access to all the courses on Blackboard now with the exception of Pharmacology :yeah:

WOW no one has wrote in SO long...i'm sure everyone has just been SO busy with school starting up and going SO fast! Well..by now i think we have all had our first nursing exam, and phew thank god its over! I did MUCH better then I thought i would...and I was stressing so much for this exam, but it's all over and were ONE step closer to being RN's! I hope everyone did well, and that everyone is enjoying what they are learning :)) I'm so excited, i had clinicals monday...and it just makes me more and more excited and anxious to BE A NURSE! :)) At first I was doubting whether or not I could do this, if i was smart enough etc...and now i feel so pumped, it's going to be along two years, but totally worth it. Good luck to everyone, and let's not forget about this board when we all have a chance, I know that this board has helped me through waiting for our acceptance letters, and getting material together to start, so lets keep it going girls :)) good luck again to everyone, we will ALL need it

Hi Pink, OMG, I can't believe all the homework. I have my first clinical on Saturday at Health South. I'm a little nervous though but I'm sure that's normal. And your right, we're all busy but need to drop a line in here every once in awhile.
