Today is the deadline and as of 12:00PM there are no apps being accepted, so they say :chuckle

Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting , checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy , biting my nails , at the edge of my seat , can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies!

So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair?

I spoke with somebody in the nursing dept today and she said that there were 40 spots, plus the 10 alternates..it also depends on if i am alternate number 1 or number 10 lol...hopefully closer to 1! I also asked her is it is possible to be an alternate aty both schools and she said no, but she didn't seem to sure....plus i was under the impression that people could be accepted into more than one program? and since they can only accept one, then that spot would go to an alternate?? I could've sworn I read that on here somehere but maybe not...

plus when i told my professor about me being an alternate, she said it looked good because some may get into more than one campus so obviously she is under that impression as well...

but I have no clue lol..maybe texastee knows...she seems to know it all ha!

anyways, hopefully y'alls letters come in tomorrow!

You know what Erica, I just remembered reading a thread here in the Texas forum where a girl was an alternate for both Kingwood and Cy-fair but I can't find the thread... it's a shame that I remember almost all the Lone Star/North Harris threads let me see if I can find it. You can still maybe be an alt for Kingwood also!

I spoke to the Kingwood office at around 1230PM today and they said hopefully they will have the letters in the mail on tomorrow but I'm guessing it won't be until Wednesday before they get mailed out because they sound so behind... they must be swamped, I'm getting impatient but I feel bad because it seems they had their work cut out this app period. Here's to hoping it turns to Celebration week by Friday at least

Smilbig, I love Cy-fair's uniforms. Have you seen them? They are orange tops and black bottoms! I believe they are the only campus with their own colors! Be happy, you got in and it goes to show that this semester/app period was extremely competitive, we're still waiting

yeah i'm feeling a bit disappointed that we have no received anything yet..i'm ready to just find out and get started!! It feels like we are NEVER going to get the letter in the mail. Is there any way we could receive a letter today? Or is that highly not likely?? I live in the front of kingwood so i'm hoping to get a letter by tomorrow or thursday at the latest..ahhhhh!!! I WANT IT NOW

I'll go home for lunch in about a half hour. Hopefully the mailman will have been there already. Yes, this is very discouraging. I'm strting to think that my application was lost. I turned it in on the 2nd day.

Texastee you don't know me, I'm new to this but I really don't think you have anything to worry about... your score is really high!! Kingwood is taking too long to send their letters. If I can make you feel a little better, my girlfriend who got into cy-fair with me has a real close relationship with one of the advisors in the kingwood nursing dept and she was told she is an alternate at kingwood and her score is only an 11.45. with your 11.7 you've got to be in... so cheer up the mail will bring good news

Thanks Ctgirl, that brings a smile to my face. I just want the letter for hopefully confirmation that my long pre-req journey is over and that I can finally move on after having waited seven years on and off. The past two years they sent out their letters before Cy-fair so why this year it's after. I feel bad for being frustrated with them because they must be swamped but at the same time, we have been waiting for a hot minute. I turned in my app in August so it's like been forever for me now even though it really has not been. The people at HCC look at my transcript and go, "you're still taking classes here" I am past anxious but your post has me a little less worried for all three of us. I am also anxious how do they differentiate the points for the applicants. What if 80 applicants had the same number of points? Here's to hoping for good news.
