Published

Today is the deadline and as of 12:00PM there are no apps being accepted, so they say :chuckle

Okay for all of us that are waiting, this is our official I'm waiting , checking the mail daily :imbar, going crazy :banghead:, biting my nails :D, at the edge of my seat :coollook:, can hardly concentrate on anything else :typing, Kingwood and Cyfair Spring 2009 awaiting thread:yeah:We still have a while to go before letters are going to be sent out but let's keep each other encouraged and cross our fingers for everyone that applies!

So who's with me? What are your points and where did you apply- Kingwood or Cyfair?

Good luck future nurses :nurse:

oh, and also look under the spring 2009 term that's where minimester classes are located!

I'm signed up for a CPR class on nov 22 in conroe

Congrats to all who have heard the word!! I know just how you all feel. Just think, next week some of you will officially be nursing students!!! Welcome to the madness!!

If I remember correctly, the nursing department has to register you for the mini. When you get your acceptance letter, there will be about 2 papers you need to sign saying you accept your acceptance and which section (day or eve) you would like and also which section of 1172 you want to take.

For your first semester you'll be learning out of your Potter & Perry book...Fundamentals of Nursing.

Make sure you have ALL of your immunizations together or you cannot go to clinical which means you'll be dropped for the program.

Make sure you review your math...Dosage Calculations (can't remember the author). You must make a 90% and you have only 3 takes after that you're dropped from the program.

Good Luck!!

by all of your immunizations for you mean like hep b? the ones required to enter the program..or are there more we were supposed to get? like childhood vaccinations maybe??

Either at orientation or included in your packet will be a physical form that has to be completed by your doctor confirming you are in good health to participate in the program. You will need you Hep B, TB, DTaP, MMR and Varicella. Think that's it. For DTaP, MMR you just need to show your immunization record. May need to update your tetorifice if over 10 years. The varicella or chicken pox if you had it your dr just needs to sign off on it.

Still Nothing :(. I guess we really won't know until November 4th or probably more like 6th (This coming Thursday)...allowing time for the letter to actually be delivered!! I'm getting more and more anxious! But in a way i'm scared now...i'm starting to experience intense heel pain...which could be a bone spur or Achilles tendonitis (or possibly something else..but the symptoms fit those two) I hope it will go away soon. I can't imagine being on my feet all day as a nurse with this kind of pain..I had to leave work today and lay in bed!! If anyone has any advice let me know. I'm going to see my family physician on Monday

anyone apply to the LVN program @tomball college

Oxcuten- try changing shoes. This will change pressure points and help your situation. I was on my feet all day saturday wearing my new 'New Balance' shoes and by days end, I could barley walk. Next day I wore my old shoes and the pain was gone. I was telling a flight nurse about my new shoes and she said that she brings a couple different shoes to work and occasionally her feet may hurt and she'll change shoes midshift and everything is good again after that. I know it worked for me this weekend and I'm returning my shoes. Apparently I need shoes with a wider toe box.
