Lone star college fall 2011

Published

Any of you guys applying for Lone Star College Fall 2011 program? I calculated my grade, and I have a 11.42. I'm so mad! I pass everything on the freaking Hesi except for the critical thinking part. It was 10 point short of the required 750 for UT. My pre req gpa is 3.8. Do I have any chance at getting into the ADN program at Lone STar College.

Its not that its hard. Its just that the question have at least 3 answer choices that could be the answer. The vocabulary words aren't that hard, its just choosing the answer that best fit the definition for the vocabulary.

Evolve pretty much will give you the idea of critical thinking vocabulary. also read any critical thinking guides from library.

Thanks guys. I took my HESI today and did pretty good. :D I also spoke to the nursing prg adviser. She says she's only received 20 applications so far! She says half of the people taking the HESI aren't passing the 75 minimum. So, with the new changes who knows what will be the cutoff this year.

ccsego - Thank you sooooo much for posting that! You gave me hope. LOL Which campus adviser told you that? I've heard that lots of people aren't passing the Hesi, which is unfortunate, but I hope that means that I'll get in....I didn't get in last year so I need to get in this time! Going to turn in my application today...

Hey all, any idea about the cut off this year? I have also, heard there aren't too many applicants this year because of new HESI.

Does anyone know how many applicants they are admitting for the Fall 2011 ADN program at the Cy-Fair location?

No one will know the cut off date until after the application period ends. I have also heard that there are not a lot of applicants this year compare to the past.

Some people have said that they are only accepting 50 new students. I've heard other people say it's around 80.

I also turned in my application today. :uhoh3: It's scary because we don't really know what the cutoffs could be, like supaflyz said. We'll just have to wait. I asked the adviser at North Harris again today, and she says she has a wide variety of scores, from the 10s up to 11.8s. She did also mention she didn't think they would need to go with the tie breaker.

Did she say about how many applications they've had turned in now?

Specializes in L & D, Med-Surge, Dialysis.

Wish you guys all the best in your career!

No. But I'm guessing they have enough now that they are not going to use the tiebreaker. My score, honestly is not very high. My HESI score was good, but I have a B for PSYC, which bring my score to 11.18. Is it enough?? I'm hoping and praying it will be. I also wish you all the best I know what it's like to work for and struggle for a chance into this competitive program. I know a lot of people who are smart and want it really bad, but still can't make the required cutoff. Like I said, I truly wish you all the best.
