Any of you guys applying for Lone Star College Fall 2011 program? I calculated my grade, and I have a 11.42. I'm so mad! I pass everything on the freaking Hesi except for the critical thinking part. It was 10 point short of the required 750 for UT. My pre req gpa is 3.8. Do I have any chance at getting into the ADN program at Lone STar College.

I'll be applying to Lonestar's ADN program - I'm hoping for North Harris or Montgomery because of transportation. Last semester's cut off for North Harris was ~11.27 or so I've read and Montgomery is from ~11.4 to ~11.7; we are ranked (tie breakers using our Hesi Anatomy/Physiology and Math scores) so I think you will be fine. I have calculated my score to be 11.32 but I am going to inquire if I can take the Hesi again to raise my score during Lonestar's application period since I took my Hesi last month for UTHSC Houston (I took the Hesi way before the Lonestar Application period and I hope to have a chance to take it again regarding the 60 day retest limit within the context of the application period end date). If not, then the scores I have now will suffice. I have a pre-req gpa of 3.69, thanks to being a former bio major. I, too, didn't do that well on the critical thinking portion since I haven't looked into triage yet. Best of luck to you.
Really I was a bio major too! I had only one semester left to get my bachelors in biology, but the stress was just to much. I was thinking of taking the DAT after that, but stress can bring you down. I think you can take it again, but be careful because you might get a lower score. I don't know why they switch it from English composite instead of math like last year?
Wow. I share exactly the same story as you. Biology Major... One more semester left to get my BS (two including the semester i was at the time taking before changing direction) . Too much on my mind... and I was prepping for the DAT. lol. Regarding retaking, that is what I am afraid of... Getting a lower score.

I am applying as well with hopes of getting into the Montgomery campus. I plan on taking the Hesi sometime next week. Has anyone used the study guides provided in the library and did you find them helpful? If not any suggestions for materials to study? Good luck to everyone applying...I have heard it is extremely competitive
Hey bhall the study guide should be helpful. Look over all the sections I guess. Look over the vocabulary section it can be tricky.

Hello all, I have applied for Fall 2011 Lone Star. my pre-req 4.0 hesi, 3.8, over all 11.40. really nervous. It is getting really hard every year...have no idea what to expect :heartbeat
Mine is around your score to with 11.4. Yeah I don't think it is fair. Last year they just took the Reading and Math score. This year they look at ap, English, grammar, math, and reading.
I don't understand we had to take the whole thing for HESI but they only ranking English Composites. I think they will use the rest as a tie breaker. I hope we all get in...really nervous

I am taking my HESI this Monday at North Harris. I heard people are not doing so well on the Vocabulary section. Are there any good web sites to help study?? I am really getting anxious about this exam.
Evolve Study guide and online vocabulary websites are helpful...
