Any advice on which stethescope provides the best acoustics for heart and lung sounds? I'm deciding between a Littmann Master Cardiology III or an Ultrascope.
:) Thanks.

Back in 1997 when I graduated from nursing school, I bought a then-state-of-the-art Littman cardiology stethoscope as a present to myself. It cost me somewhere around $250, and I couldn't hear squat with it. So I bought a $90 Ultrascope, and I can hear EVERYTHING with it. You have to play with it, try using different pressures etc. to find out how best to hear different sounds, but that's true of any stethoscope.........for my money, it's the Ultrascope!

I also have a Master Cardiology and can't hear as much as I'd like to hear. I'm upset since I spent an arm and a leg buying it during school. I'm looking into buying and new one but haven't made a decision yet....what do you all reccommend???

I have the master cardiology III and I absolutely love mine. I have no problems picking up murmurs, rubs, and lung sounds. I must say I havent even heard of the ultrascope, I might have to check into it. Most of the nurses on the floor have a master cardiology and seem pleased with the results.

what about an electronic stethoscope? Has anyone heard about them? There's one on allheart for @ 190.00, just wondering, it says it's 14x an acoustic.

Allheart doesn't have the best rep for customer service. Plentry of threads here that have complaints r/t Allheart.
Stethoscopes are like shoes. What's great for one person might not work for another, so the best bet is to try out different ones.

Hey, I will be graduating in 2 weeks-yeahhhh!!! Anywho I am in the market for a new stethoscope. The two that look appealing for what they have to offer are the 3m-littmann master classis 2
or
littman classic 2 SE
Does anyone know anything about these models or any suggestions on one that works really well? Thanks much!!

I'm a student, and just got the Littman one. I like that it also has the small side for peds or very small adults. I can hear great out of it. http://www.scopesplus.com has great prices!
