Hi everyone! I started this page because I read posts from last cohorts from people discussing their admission process. If anyone has applied for Linfield College of Nursing's Spring 2020 application I was wondering if you would be interested in sharing your GPA, experience, etc. and we can also share when we hear back regarding acceptance! Thanks and I hope to hear back!

I was wondering about the gpa because the one calculated from nursingcas is much lower than my gpa from all my prereqs and undergrad classes. I had to submit my transcripts from when I went to college when I was 18 for two semesters, those grades were really bad, so it made my gpa like 3.0 or something. The admissions person told me it shouldn’t matter but we’ll see. My gpa in science classes so far is 4.0 and overall it’s 3.9 (excluding my bad 18 yr old classes), I still need to take chem 106 though. I’m wondering what the chances are for me because at the time of applying I had not taken either chemistry classes but have since completed the first one. I did have a year and a half of cna experience at the time of applying as well.
Thanks for the reply! So the way I understand it, they look at the prerequisites from the form that we filled out and uploaded that was specifically for Linfield. I do not think that they look at the “nursingcas gpa” other than the cumulative one it generates (I’m also hoping). My A&P prerequisite is a 4.0 and my science prerequisite is a 3.92. My cumulative is lower due to classes I took 4 years ago during my previous bachelor degree when I as also 18. My prerequisites are finished but i’m taking CNA this fall just incase I do not get accepted into Linfield I can build experience and work!

Im also applying and quite scary! I have bachelor degree already and my GPA is about the same with u guys. Do you know approximately what days admission letter will be sent out? By mail or email? I contacted Mindy and never heard back ?
Hi, Leo- I had also emailed Mindy about two weeks ago and I received an email back from the director of enrollment services saying that Mindy is on leave at the moment. Although, he informed me that there are 55 seats for transfer students as of right now and he anticipates letters being mailed before the end of September!
Does he mention how competitive it is and how many applicants? Im nervous and praying everyday
Thanks for all your reply, are u guys from Portland?
You're welcome, it makes the process a little better being able to discuss it with others. I am currently living in Olympia, WA. What about you?
Also, he did not mention competitiveness but I also didn’t ask! I’m also extremely nervous and I have read from past cohorts that people received their letters as early as Sept 17th!
I live in portland. Admission office tell me they will send out the letter on October 1st. Anticipation is so bad.

I applied for the spring cohort as well. I have a 4.0 for all my pre reqs and my cumulative is hard to say because I have classes from two different institution. I believe it is around 3.9. I have no experience???. This is my very first time applying for a nursing school, quite nervous! Do you guys plan on living on campus? If not how far do you guys live? And, also how do you guys plan on paying the huge cost? It is so expensive!
This is my first time applying as well! It sounds we all have similar gpa’s and applications for the most part. Is Linfield everybody’s first choice school?
