Remember you can complete the FAFSA on your own for free. But know that part of the financial aid determination is based upon your previous year income, if I recall correctly there is a query whether you are currently unemployed. If you are unemployed have you registered with your county one stop center? Depending on your previous education & experience and how you do on the placement test, there may be some funding available for your education as a practical nurse. (You are required to complete the FAFSA and accept certain financial aid awards offered as the funds will not duplicate. The funding is finite and will not cover all the tuition and fees for a private technical school. In order to qualify for nursing you need to score well on the one stop center's placement test and not everyone will be offered funds. The benefit of this program is that you would be made eligible for "ABT" (additional benefits during training) which will permit you to claim unemployment while a full time day student.)

@mom-n-student.. Thanks for providing me with some info. Yes, I completed my FAFSA form already. I actually went through Pa careerlink and I qualify for the the training funds since I am receiving unemployment benefits. I am able to receive 5thousand BUT the LPN program @ center city isnt approved for the fundings but hopefully something else will be available for me. I hope the school can work it out where I wont have to repay my loans until I am done school since i wont have any income while I am attending school. But I guess I will figure everything out once I get a chance to sit down with a Financial Aid advisor. I hope everything goes well with you in your LPN career,, thankx again

On the 14th of this month I'm goin to Lincoln Tech in Edison,NJ. I'm meeting with someone pertaining to my nursing career, but the thing is that I do not want to go for my LPN & then bridge over to the RN program. That's so much time so my goal is to go straight for my RN.......also I want to attend Mountainside Hospital Nursing Program now I'm in my last semester @ Essex County College & I can't attend their day program because I didn't take the Chemistry in the fall I had repeated English 102 cause I wanted to bring the C I had got so I'm taking Chemistry this semester & I can apply but I'll have to go in the evening & I have a 3 year old. So I am looking for a GREAT RN program & if anyone can help me please do. :)

Hey I just got accepted into Lincoln Tech's LPN program in Center City as well. Do you like the program so far? Were you able to pay for it? I am kinda nervous because I am not trying to take out a big/huge loan for LPN school
