I plan on going to the lincoln tech LPN program in edison starting in december.. i am going tonight to speak with an advisor... does any one have any feedback on this school , nothing too negative please i want mostly positives !!! and is anyone attending now or will anyone be attending in the near future your feedback please :yeah:
THANK YOU!!!
You don't even have to bring it in if you complete the FAFSA online. If you bring the tax returns in, technically your parents have to be there to give consent to the process. Otherwise they can do the consent online as you enter the information into the FAFSA.gov form. If your parents are anything like mine were, they may not want you walking around with copies of their financial documents.
If you complete the information online before you go, the eligibility information will be automatically sent to the school and that will save you a lot of time.
Congrats to all of you ladies and I wish you the best. I am currently attending Lincoln and I enjoy it. I do very well in my classes. I am in my second quarter it is no cake walk and you have to go hard or stay home. I am very confident in my future as a nurse. I didn't have to pay a lot out of pocket. Thank GOD. I can honestly say I have been blessed. Just remember you are going there to learn cause sometimes everyone doesn't have the same intentions and ambitions and my try to side track you. Once again CONGRATS
congrats on passing the entrance exam ! i will be starting the lpn course in paramus. i hate to burst your bubble but every student has a balance no matter how much financial aide covers you. now i personally qualified for the pell grant which was 5,550$ and then there are 2 loans that you are guareented to get which covers a large amount. i was left with a balance of about 4,500$ (by the way the tuition is roughly 27,000$). now your balance must be paid during school, unless you have excellent credit or a co-signer to get a loan from lt and the interest is 12% :uhoh21: which is alot. so i have to pay 308$ for 15 months. the financial aid lady told me im lucky because alot of people dont qualify for the pell grant and have even larger balances. i dont see how someone can complete this program without having any income or parents with money lol-seriously ! also, in order for you to not need your parents you need to have a child or be older then 24yrs old. and theres no way around that. so i do wish you luck and do speak to the financial aid counselor first, but this is accurate info because im a student and i did my my financial aid last month.
yes i agree nina122 I have not set up my financial aid appt as of yet. I start Dec 13th @ the center city campus in Philly. I am currently unemployed so I should qualify for majority of the aid. I hope this doesnt interfere with me attending the LPN program that would be so discouraging. Well keep me posted on how things turned out for you!

Don't tell them that you worked under the table! If you worked only a few months on the books, you still should have gotten a W-2 form at the end of the year. If you made less than a certain amount you might not have been required to file a tax return. If you have W-2's and your income was below the threshold to complete a federal tax return, you can still fill out the FAFSA with the amounts and checking the box that says something like "I was not required to complete an IRS 1040EZ, 1040A, or 1040 for 2009 or 2010"
You can fill out the FAFSA on your own. Depending on your age, you may be considered dependent on your parents. (early 20's is the cut off) but the FAFSA asks particular questions regarding your age & dependence to determine if you are a dependent student or an independent student.
go to http://www.fafsa.gov and start the form.
