Licensure requirements for CA for foreign grad

World Immigration

Published

I just graduated from a nursing school in the phils. I wasn't able to take the local board bec. my immigrant visa was about to expire.I was lucky that i was able to finish my course there. My question is do you really have to be a local board passer so you will be eligible to take the CA NCLEX here?I mean even as an immigrant? And for all those foreign grads how long did it take for your application for licensure to be processed?:uhoh3: just wondering....

Specializes in ER (future assignment).
is the payment for the cali board is like the cgfns! using bank draft!!! thanks

if you have a relative in US, you can also use his/her personal check..

it is ELIGIBILITY... not CREDIBILITY. before applying, think first where you really want to work. dont think which is the easiest or the fastest... CA may take about 3-6 mos before they will make you eligible to sit for the exam.

hahaha:uhoh3: CREDIBILITY!!!! i should blame my keyboard... bdw wow i was amazed coz my eligibility arrived this day and it only took 1 month and 20 days to receive this eligibility i thought it will take a minimum of 6 months to 8 but i really thank for what happend.. My big problem now was im not ready for the exam so i shoud start reviewing right now i hope i can pass this exam.

Oh my goodness. I mailed in my application to CA BON Sep 06 second week. I think they received it Sep29 cause my check receipt arrived already with the date I mentioned stamped on it.

SO would I expect eligibility issued around Jan-March 07? :( That's still a long way to go. Plus I did the hardcard process which was a big mistake.

Guys, can i submit an LVN application simultaneous to that of my RN application? Just in case... you know what...

Thanks

HI Suzanne... and fellow forumers. Just wanna let everyone know that I got my eligibility letter today from snail mail. MY goodness... it only took a month.... I submitted Sep 25 and it got here Nov 7! Cheers everyone and hang on... dunno what happened why CALI BON was fast this time :)

whoah...Haven't been able to visit this thread but thank you all so much for all your replies. Just to update you guys. I received my eligibility letter exactly after 6 months! I scheduled my exam 3 weeks after registering with pearson vue, took NCLEX last 10/28 after 2 days found out that i passed. I was really surprised that only after 2 days the result was out. Anyways thank you all so much for your replies!!

im also a june passer, i already have my license photocopied and plan to submit to ca bon when my applications are ready.

my batchmates who applied last july 06 to cali but only wrote an explanation letter got their eligibility in 3 months time, but I think ca is faster now after they revised and fixed their system. hope that helps.

hi tukmol 06 and for everyone who wants to know more about CALI BON.

you dont need to submit an explanation letter. its already ok for them if u submit a copy of ur diploma. It stated in the form to submit either a copy of diploma or a copy of ur license. its up to u what copy will u send. just wait for at least 2 mos to get ur eligibilty but it depends on ur application or finger printing if there is a correction ur application will be delayed. like what happened in my application i submitted it mid of april this year and finger print card was rejected. so i submitted another card this june and got my eligibility august 26 and my att august 27. if u already have an eligibility and want to get ur ATT faster just register here www.pearsonvue.com u will need a credit card after u register for ur ATT just provide ur email add to them and presto after u have paid u will get ur ATT in no more than 10 seconds. will take my nclex this january 3. if u choose HK for ur exam, mind u after u have ur att get the phone and call nclex because Hk was always full for schedules maybe now the available slot is for march. before u proceed have ur credit card on hand to pay for $150 (tax).just provide ur credit card number and the 3 digit numbers at the back of it and ur candidate number. u will find ur candidate number in ur att. here is the number 0061294785400. hope it helps..by the way im 2004 board passer. nclex is my last exam to take. i completed my cgfns and ielts already got my visa screen march 2006..Good luck to all of us nurses.:nurse:

God Bless and take care!!

by the way if any of u dont have any credit card u can use ur relatives card.
