I made a post about my husband sleeping with his girlfriend, I didn’t post a name because I didn’t know it. She made a complaint to the state board of nursing and they are investigating me! Do I need an attorney?
If you have nursing insurance, call them and let them know. Either way, get a lawyer and don't say anything until you and your lawyer are on the same page. Once that is done, discuss a possible libel lawsuit against the woman who did this to you. She is a malicious scumbag and so is your (hopefully) soon-to-be ex-spouse.
Never post your private woes online. Never post bad things online. As nurses, we are one of the largest group of the healthcare team and the most common face the public sees. It is too easy to attack us if we give others an opening. Always gather information that will support you and protect you from others like your spouse and his girlfriend. I wish you the best possible outcome.

Nurses are held to a higher standard than the general public and their ability to make sound judgement is always the questionsIn situations such as this the question remains: Did the nurse act in the same manner as a resonably person in the same or similar circumstances would act, This "Girlfriend" could be accusing you of slander which in most states is an act of moral turpitude and can be investigathed by the board. This is why I aleays maintain anonimity on social media. The more public SM sites are mosly about my garden, pets and family, entertainging cat videos and recipes.

You are correct about SM. But, in the defense of the OP, she didn't give a name. That's why this case is so silly.

All of her accusations were slanderous which is why I’m shocked the BON is investigating. She did not submit evidence either
It appears that she is accusing you of doing the same thing to her. I doubt that this will go anywhere with the BON but you never know. If you have Liability Insurance it may not cover this type of behavior
The BON is required to investigate every complaint, no matter how frivolous. With nothing to back up those complaints their investigation should find no fault and be closed with no further action required. That being said the BON can be a fickle beast so if you have either insurance to cover an attorney or the means to hire one it sure wouldn't hurt.
