Hey Everyone,
Does anyone know why some people licenses expires faster than others.
For examples mines was issued on the 27th of June 2008 and expires September 30th 2009.
My friends was issued on June 24th 2008 and doesn't expire until June 30, 2010.
Why is that?

It expires 2 years from your birthday so it differs depending on when your birthday is. Mine was issued March 2008 and my birthday is in August. Mine expires Sept 2009.

uh???
That cant be true because it is expires in just over a year for me.
A friend of mine just passed hers yesterday and her expiration date isn't until 2011. We graduated in th same class. I emailed the BON so hopefully they will get back to me soon. I'm very curious.
According to the Board of Registered Nursing, "First California License: Your first California license is issued for two birthdays -- not two years -- and expires the last day of the month following your birth date. From that date on, it will expire every two years, if renewed timely."

Here in CT newly licensed nurses licenses expire when the month of their birthday comes no matter when you are first licensed.
I was licensed in July and my license expires 4/30/09. My classmate was licensed in July too and hers expires this December (08). And another classmate was licensed in July and hers expires 8/30/09.
Licenses are renewed annually during the licensee's month of birth.

I don't think thats accurate. It does expire in your birth month, but not necessarily the next year because I got my RN license this July (08) and my license doesn't expire until May (2011)
What State are you in? It may not be accurate for your State but its accurate for Connecticut.
I spoke directly with the Connecticut BON and what I said is what they told me. Your first time issued license expires the FIRST time your birth month comes up (for some it could be 1 month, 7 months or any other time frame up to 12 months), after that your licenses expires annually on your birth month.
And actually the last sentence in my previous post was taken directly from the CT BON.

I'm in Virginia. I guess it may be different for different states because like I said, my license doesn't expire until 2011.
