License Expiration date

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone know why some people licenses expires faster than others.

For examples mines was issued on the 27th of June 2008 and expires September 30th 2009.

My friends was issued on June 24th 2008 and doesn't expire until June 30, 2010.

Why is that?

I just got my TN RN license in July 2009 and it expires in March of 2012. Most of my classmates who have recieved their license expire in 2010 or 2011. Can someone explain why I got an extended period of time. Not that I am complaining I am just curious.

It depends on the state.

In my state, when they issue your license, if you're born in an even-numbered year your license will expire at the end of your birth month in the next even-numbered year (so if you got it this year, it'd expire in 2010). If you're born in a odd-numbered year, same thing but it's the next odd-number year (if you got it this year, it'd expire in 2011). After that, it has to be renewed every 2 years.
