hi one of my friends passed california board of nursing, nclex exam but not able to get the license because he is lacking of social security number, but when his agency applied for him in arizona to get license by endorsement from california he immediately got his arizona license(i mean hard license). how true is this? if it is true then what are the steps to apply license in arizona by endorsement.other thing, aside from the letter, california board of nursing sent me informing that i passed nclex, could i possibly asked an official certificate that i really passed nclex exam?thanks, hope someone can help me.:uhoh21:

hi,
well i'm not actually familiar in endorsing license to az but i got my license in ca first and then endorse it to other state. i guess it's pretty much the same.but to make sure, you need to go to az bon website and follow the steps in endorsing license. about an official certificate, i know if you pass the exam, they'll send you a confirmation of passing including your license and then a certificate will follow in a week or two. or if you want, you can ask a copy of your results and a copy of another certificate but you need to pay for it separately. you might wanna visit their official website to make sure how much it cost. goodluck!

it's possible that he got license in az if he applied for licensure by examination, not endorsement. ca will just verify to az that he passed nclex.

and if coming from a state that does their own evaluation or have a special service like NY then you still have to meet requirements of foreign nurse before they will issue you with a hard license. I passed with NY and when I endorsed to AZ I had to get CES done and they wouldn't process my file until they received it.

There is no certified letter to get to state that you have passed the NCLEX exam. Anything that is needed officially must come directly fromt he Board and cannot be accepted from you.
There is no endorsement procedure to follow if you tested for CA, the nurse must always use the License by Examination process and just have Ca submit the results. Without an active license number, the endorsement process cannot be used.

what other states who does not require any ss# before we get a license?
There are multiple threads that discuss this. Please just have a look for them and do not post the same question in multiple places.
Please take the time to do some reading on this forum. And what was stated to you already, there is absolutely no reason to start anything now or for the next 2 1/2 years as all licenses have expirations in the US and no sense in having to go thru any other procedures at this time.
