I'm a libertarian nurse. Ask me anything.
Apparently a whole bunch of libertarians think that public health and "in the name of health" is the worst possible offender to our civil liberties. I'm going to go cough my TB all over that guy and ask if he'd like to go get checked in at the health department.
That's where I first parted company with both objectivism and libertarianism: the total denial of the whole concept of public good or social responsibility. They want to claim all the benefits of living in a society but refuse to accept any responsibility. It's apparently someone else's job to pay for the social infrastructure on which they depend.

Heron,
A lightbulb just went off over my head. THAT is what's wrong with the Vaxxed thread! They are all Libertarians! That's why they don't get the whole public safety thing!
Oops, almost forgot a question. Let's see. Oh, can you guess my great-grandson's name?

Indeed! Here's the thing: self-interest is supposedly the only rational motivation to do anything, hence the worship of profits. When I do something solely because it's in my own interest to do it, I'm being all strong-minded and courageous (not to mention thoroughly Aryan - but we're not supposed to notice that). If you do something because it's in your interest and that interest conflicts with mine, you're a looter.
When I seek healthcare, it's in my interest to get good quality. This conflicts directly with the vendors' interest in making a profit. In the unregulated libertarian paradise, there is little to no incentive to do anything other than provide as little quality as possible for as high a price as possible.
Kinda sounds familiar, doesn't it? Yet, the OP suggests we keep doing what we're doing in the fond belief that John Galt will somehow save all our lives. Maybe by killing off the untermenschen?
Nope - for-profit healthcare is a failed experiment.

Yes? What. Tell me you can read his last post for the 10th about freedom of choice, and not realize he is talking about Libertarianism. I just called it before he posted it. I also wish he would quit making my point for me (albeit badly). I had nothing to add to the thread after that.
Oh, and Heron? Far? What model would you think would be better for Healthcare?
